Help needed to ID aircraft

Hi all,

 

I'm in the process of buying a Australian built ultralight and I'm chasing some info. I've attached a picture to this post, the info I have so far is.

 

Build in 1997 buy Andrew Richards (believed deceased) and Raymond hill under the names skybound aviation, aircraft called ar-5. Flew 10hrs of testing

 

Held a RAA ergo of 10-1884.

 

I'm chasing any info anyone may have on the history of this aircraft.

 

Any help would be awesome.

I could be wrong and I might have the name wrong, but I recall that there was an Andrew Richards associated with Lethbridge Airpark, just north of Geelong who was killed in an accident following a structural failure of the aircraft he was instructing in at the time. It's a long shot but you might try the owner of Lethbridge Airpark who was Andrews father-in-law from memory (it was a long time ago). He may be able to help.

Yeah, did you buy the nieuport in Townsville? I was looking at that too.

 

Yes this is the one for sale, looks like my next project.

. Yeh would be a great little project.. I think I may have seen it fly years ago at a flyin at goolwa s.a ? Oh and pretty sure it's a mid wing "Rans. "

Yeah I found this info and spoke to RAA. However their privacy rules won't allow them to give me any owner/builder info unless I've purchased the aircraft. They didn't seem to understand I need more information to support the purchase.

Thats a bit like buying a pig in a sack if you can't get get the information.

 

From the safety angle i'd want to get a few details as well.

 

Without giving out all personal details, a few clues to point you in the right direction would be helpful, and most normal folks would not object to that.

 

Unfortunately, we seem to cater to keep the small minority happy these days:scratching head:

 

If you have a genuine reason,details are available with the RMA, why not RAAus?

 

So what happens about the privacy laws in those cases.
