A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said they were called out to a private property at Theodore, south-west of Gladstone, at about 8:30am. The pilot - a man in his 50s - was pronounced dead at the scene. Police will be investigating the crash on behalf of the coroner. I have not found the police media statement yet. They usually just copy that.
