Wilfred Posted February 22, 2008 Share Posted February 22, 2008 (Somebody) Took this picture in the cockpit today returning from ******* on a B777. We are landing at Heathrow on the same runway where an identical B777 so nearly came to grief recently. As you can see from the wheel ruts, they only just made it over the perimeter road and landing lights. They were all very, very lucky on that day. old man emu Posted February 22, 2008 Share Posted February 22, 2008 I believe that British Airways conducted an experiment in a flight simulator, recreating the conditions at the time of the power loss. The experimenters landed the simulator in almost the exact palce that Coward did. Considedring that the experimenters knew when and what was going to happen, the result of the experiment shows that Caoward and Co were mighty fine airmen.
