OzRunways subscription August 2025

I just went to renew my subscription of ozRunways on my mini Ipad it took me to Apple pay and renewal listed for VFR Premium $254.99.  I decided to check renewal via my laptop and it was $219 for VFR Premium so renewed that way.  Surprised at the difference $35.99 ???

In Australia credit card charges are generally not more than 1.5%.

Thanks onetrack; I posted to inform and seek any comments from members who have recently or are about to renew (via apple pay or other, I finished up just going through their webb site and then PayPal)

I wonder what percentage the receiver of the payment pays for the service?

Well, I know that PayPal charge a flat 2.5% for most transactions, and if the transaction is into a different currency, they give you a crappy exchange rate, which means they fill their pockets again.

Was it ApplePay that caused the additional surcharge, or did the iPad take you renew via the AppleStore (without actually taking you to the store)? If I recall, OzRunways used to say to renew through their website, not via Apple’s update because Apple add a hefty premium (which is subject to current litigation over monopoly control and restrain of trade, I believe).
