Greetings from 'up over'.....is that right?

i have a Tecnam Bravo. located santa monica, california, u.s.

The plane is wonderful with a few exceptions, but they will work their way out. I found this site and am glad I could register. There does not appear to be much out there for Tecnam forums. Great to find this.

Not sure why the dealers in the u.s. are so hesitant to post, or start a national user group....so far since May 2008, I only know 5 other Bravo owners. We all need a broader experience base. Parts are an issue here until they become more extablished.

But, the whole idea of flying light sport is that I CAN FLY. I got my license in March 2008, have about 250 hours, and fly the entire Los Angeles area....very busy airspace, fun to get my endorsement for flying through lax, burbank, and others.

Looking forward to exchange experiences on the forum!!

Regards,

Bruce

G'day Bruce

Nice to have a yank to give us some info on up-over.

Lax could never happen here. Ultralights are not allowed into controlled airspace, and even GA aircraft have trouble getting into capital city airports, none of which would equual LAX. Would be great to fly over the active runway looking down on landing airliners.

098_welcome.gif.81ff07d492568199326e4f64f78d7bc6.gif Bruce,

Great to get people from other parts of the globe.

I live and fly from my property which is situated 45 ks south of Cairns, Queensland,Australia.

I own a Maxair wire braced Drifter, which I fly regularly and due to my situation I can just jump in and go whenever I want to,I went flying this afternoon, in fact.

I`ve flown many other types of recreational aircraft over the years, however, not a Tecnam Bravo.

Looking foward to exchanging experiences with you, also.

Cheers,

Frank.

Hi Frank,

Just now getting back to my computer to respond to the wonderful greetings from persons like you. It feels great to belong to a group and a world of flying that two years ago was just a fantasy. Thank you for welcoming me to the group.

Regards,

Greetings Ian,

Thank you for welcoming me to the group. So glad I found this website and the incredible number of members, all with the same unique experiences of 'going up.'

Yes, LAX has three corridors for us to travel north or south, a 2.5K', 3.5k", and 4.k"

The view is really great from above. The only traffic to fear is others doing what you're doing. One route is totally cleared by lax tower, the other two are pilot-monitored on common frequency. Usually a fairly easy jump across. I'm still new to all this but the total non-stop radio traffic keeps me on my toes. They say that if you can fly the los angeles basin, there is no other place in the u.s. that even compares for 'busy.' Eventually, I'll move out of this "city-gone-mad" and move to a simpler place and fly peacefully.

Thanks again for the response.

Regards,

Hi Geoff,

Yes, I'm finding out how great this site is. I'll be posting more when I get further involved is my new adventure. Just got my license in March of this year, but have had my plane since May 2007. I had my own plane for all my pilot training, so the transition from student pilot to pilot in command was clean. Thanks for your welcome to the site.

regards,

Bravo! Bravo! Bruce (no standing ovation) Tecnam Bravo
