Check and training will have to do the job properly.  Nev

CAsA have been riding the guys something fierce! To be expected I guess with a few competitors in the background watching g VERY closely!

  2. Remember Bonza’s A/C are leased (from a major shareholder) so they got a very good deal to promote them and help grubby Boeing get some some trust back! This deal will allow Bonza to kick off with low operating costs, airframe wise. They will still operate in the same airspace under the same restrictions etc as the other grubs so their real ace in the whole is cheap new planes👍 I know several Check & Training guys who are onboard, sounds promising 👍Fingers crossed.

  3. I hate flying as self loading freight, the worst experience, from the rip off prices to the late/cancelation of flights, it’s an ugly industry the Airline business and  I’m glad I’m out of now! Bonza should do well initially (I hope they do) like anything new, the grubs at the top end will do whatever they can to keep them from getting ahead!

  4. There would have been plenty of sculldugery going on behind the scenes with a ‘go slow’ arrangement in place for Bonza to get their HC AOC! Remember CASA are run by people (term used closely!) who have opinions, can be influenced and have friends in high places in other Airlines, not all cops are squeaky clean so to speak!

Personally  I hope they do well! Most of the general public wouldn’t know a Boeing from a Cessna, so the Max will just ply the friendly skies like the rest of the bogan carriers! With the high cost of tickets these days that the grubby Airlines are revelling in any newbie only has to weather a year or so of losing $$$by way of cheap fares and they’ll have customers lining up around the corner to get a cheap ticket forever!……remember Aussies love a bargain regardless of whether they need it or not😂

  5. I’ve done hundreds of joy rides in twins a hundred years ago, most times I had to endure a pax in the other control seat, absolute PITA most were.  You can’t always control them, they’re excited mostly and don’t understand the potentially dangerous situation they are in! I’ve  had them bath me in their lunch, had flashes go off right in my face (night Ops), grab me cause they were sh1t scared! Whirly Gig drivers would have to endure this many times a day in at times a very demanding environment flying a far more complex machine than some basic 10 seat twin!

Ok... So I am going to add my 2 bobs here, for what it's worth.

I have been flying for just over 5 years.  I have about 220 hours of flight.  I have spent time, like most of us, reading forums and participating in discussions etc.  I am always very interested when accidents are reported, trying to understand what happened, and maybe add lessons learnt to my kit bag.

After all that is said and done, personally, I will not step into an aircraft with a Jab engine.  I have been offered flights at fly ins etc, and I have kindly said no.  Why you ask??  Not because someone told me anything bad, or someone suggested they are not good - purely based on my own observations, and how nervous I would feel flying in one.

Maybe that mentality is unfounded - but that is just how I feel.  No offence intended nor implied.  Just how I feel.  Same way I would not spearfish off the rocks near Sydney.  I would be too nervous to get into the water.  Not because it's bad or more dangerous than anything else - just how I feel, and I think we are all entitled to have opinions without offence.

    Fly safe peeps.

That about sums it up, personal choice, well said👍 The same here, but for me I’d never go flying in a Jab unless I was in command, I value my life a LOT👍

  7. Went for a drive over a recreational  lake in central Vic yesterday, so many hoons on jet skies and stink boats I felt sorry for the fisher-persons (gotta be politically correct in this weak society!) who were battling constant swells!
Hoons are prevalent in every form of transport!

  8. Christ all we want do is put gas in a tank that’s above our head height. I use a 10L jerry placed on the wing with one of those cheap and nasty D  battery powered spike pumps from Ebay, a back up jiggle syphon does just as well,  jobs done. I’m getting g a headache reading all this mumbo jumbo😂

  9. Both the two major manufacturers told ‘fairytales’ to assist in getting their product ahead of the opposition. Both types had their drawbacks.
Beech, the other big player had some attributes as well, I drove quite a few of their models and the same ‘tank’ like feel was evident in them all.

At the end of the day they are all commercial businesses and oh boy there would have been plenty of artistic licence handed out to sell theirs😂😂

  10. Every A/C is a trade off. Mission specific is the biggest consideration (after budget purchase price) and no one size fits all. The RV range I consider best bang for buck these days, the RV12 would cover a lot of most peoples missions. Jabs are popular (for the life of me can’t see why!) and there’s always numerous for sale at any one time.

But in answer to your original Q, no, the old rusty clunker PA series are in a world of their own👍
