2. Welcome Steve, nice to see another Perth member! I look forward to reading some of your posts. :)
3. Who wants to carry an over sized iPod Touch in their plane? That's just about all it's good for
4. I'm pretty familiar with the Apple iPhone API, this is something I'd be interested in doing if there was enough interest in it. On the iPhone it may be a little tricky to navigate due to the size of the screen, but pinch to zoom and drag it around to view should be sufficient... Opinions?
5. Hi Everyone, Yes I was pretty XXXXed off when I read it - still can't get over it actually. We don't give GA crap like that, so I don't think we deserve it. From my knowledge most of the ALA and small country strips are maintained by RA-Aus Schools/Clubs and GA pilots and aircraft are usually given a warm welcome. Quite disappointed with the attitude of the writer. -Andrew
6. Sorry you're right but there was no need for the capitalization, I'm sure we can all read. Yes they use a jet propelled system now (as I've been told) where it pretty much blows out of the cylinder*ish* shape, yes there has been safety modifications added but it could still happen regadless of the chute type. -Andrew
7. And this is why I don't want one...
8. Hi Tomo, Looks like it'd suit my Sony Handycam - I'll send ya a PM. Regards, Andrew

Thruster T83

Hi Pete, Just any type of info you have basically, electrical schematics, maintenance manuals, operating manuals, general speeds/performance charts just anything you think I'd find useful. I can PM you my email address or I can provide you with webspace to upload them if you prefer. Thanks heaps, Andrew
10. Hi Tomo, nice video and well demonstrated! Mind sharing what you use for the camera mount? Thanks, Andrew

Thruster T83

Hi Pud, Yeah I think it'd be a great experience for me to actually understand what kind of work goes into an aircraft and actually having the huge responsibility of looking after something like this. I'll be at Bindoon the next few weekends (on Sunday) getting some solo time Might see you then  Regards, Andrew

Thruster T83

Hey Pud, Yeah I saw an advert for that on a sign at Bindoon, I think it was ~$12,500. I'll have to keep looking, there's a T85 (I believe) in my schools hangar thats been there for ages and apparently it was for sale, I'll have to ask about that one. It's not a worry if the aircraft needs work done, I can always restore it slowly over time. Thanks, Andrew

Thruster T83

Has anyone got any type of specification sheet/pilot operating handbook for the T83? Turns out there was only 49 of them built and one is for sale at my aerodrome. I think it'd be an excellent restoration project for Dad and I! Any type of info is appreciated! Thanks.
14. Having a look at some different types of Thrusters mainly for their simplicity and price, hopefully own one once I get my certificate  Thanks mate, just save your cash, get down there every weekend and you should be solo in no time. I've just gotta knock over 5 hours solo and I'll have my certificate.
15. Welcome! Glad to see another West Aussie on the members list! I look forward to reading some of your posts and viewing your photography  -Andrew
16. Not too sure about pricing but you could take a look at the Ski Doo suits that skiers wear - probably a bit pricey but.
17. Was a bit windy Tomo but I'm happy everything went to plan
18. It's a bit strange being able to fly a plane but not drive a car :P Thanks Yenn. Also is the video good quality? -Andrew
19. Thanks everyone and Neil I do plan on an aviation career :) Video was attached in the main post... Doesn't appear to be working for me... Is it working for everyone else?
20. Thanks Tomo, I knew it was coming up, I had around 24 hours before today but they were achieved when I was 14 so I couldn't solo, so basically today it was 0.5 circuits 0.2 check ride 0.1 solo  Thanks everyone, just converting the files and it'll be live. -Andrew
21. Hey everyone, I thought this was a bit of a special announcement  I completed my first solo today at about 9AM AWST and it was awesome! Aircraft handles completely different to what it does with an instructor, no joke I was airborne in about 150m - it was crazy! I'm 15 years old and 2 days with now about 25 odd hours (stretched my hours out since I was 14) My brother got video from the ground so I'll be sure to upload that so you can all view  Thanks, Andrew
22. No the reason I used the tail suction cup idea is because that's the only place I've actually seen one mounted (and discussed) and no I definitely don't plan on mounting it on the tail on my frist solo or even after it, sorry if I was unclear. If you take a look on youtube I've seen students take a camera up with them on their first solo and HOLD it, that my friend is stupid... I've taken a camera up with me before with an instructor and just left it on the dash, he was very clear... "Do NOT grab the camera if it falls off, just leave it." Thanks Nev for an actual answer to my question. But I think you all might have a point, I'll just leave it for a little while.
23. Evening everyone, Yes I've searched the forum and I've come across a thread about suction cups (too old to make a post though) however it didn't really give me a straight answer. I'm looking at purchasing a GoPro HD camera to film my first solo and I don't really want to have it hanging off my headset so I gave suction cups a thought. Now as you get higher I take it they'll fall off the window? I've seen someone make a video with a camera mounted on the tail of their Jabiru with a suction cup and it worked fine. The elevation of Bindoon is 920' so circuits are at 1900' AMSL (but because I'm so skilled I'll fly it at 1920' AMSL ) will a suction cup be effected at that height? Also I'm going to be in a J160C - any possible camera mounting ideas for the GoPro? Cheers, Andrew
