I got to taxi it for a bit anyway. I was expecting the tail wheel to steer a lot worse than what it did. Just had to give it lots of peddle to turn . I was pleasantly surprised after reading about how difficult they were on the ground. I guess I don't know any different so that helps.

My Dingo digger with a 23hp Kohler V Twin motor did the same, no reason. $1000 in parts to fix…….
I got lucky. Just got given a good flywheel and stator .

I have seen outboards do the same thing. Most go forever and some don't. The flywheel was a mission to get off without the right puller. They really lock onto the taper.

Minor setback. We ran the engine up yesterday before the test flight and a piece of magnet or stator broke off and destroyed the flywheel magnets and stator. Should have the new bits this week. What's funny is it still ran perfect . The lame picked up by accident when he wound the prop by hand we could hear something rubbing.

Looks very nice! What diameter is that prop?
The pod looks good from a distance. I did a terrible paint job but it can wait . I just want to fly it .

Hi team,
I have recently purchased a TST/300 and putting her back in the air.
Was in storage for sometime so a few bits missing.
I am chasing the small bushes that fit at the front of the fin (under and below the fues tube).Does anyone know of any or have any!
Look forward to sharing more about this little jigger when she is finished!
Cheers Mark(Tasmania)
Are you still after parts mark. I have been given a wreck if you still want the bushes

He never flew it. Just taxied. We had roofs ripped off and even a truck blown on its side that day . I doubt if there is any ultralight that can handle those conditions. It was the Gemini you looked at.
Update on the thruster incident.
The reliable source was not so reliable. I met the owner this week and got the true story. It was parked outside his shed on a farm and the storm hit before he got back to put it away. It got picked up and flipped a few times.

Yes Floods will have any parts required, needle, needle jet, main jet etc. You just have to be sitting down if getting price on floats 🤨
Thanks thruster. I replaced the vent hose on 1 carb and didn't realise it had to have a small hole in it. The pressure buildup was holding the floats down. Learnt something new . Just started my thruster for the 1st time. Love how smooth the 582 is.

All sorted. Didn't need kits it was a mistake by me . Fixed now.

Hello everyone. I am after Bing 54 kits. Where do I get them. Would Bert flood stock them.

Nuclear is the way forward. Probably never happen though.
It would take the government to build it as a utility service not privatised. I don't think any private company would do it because of the time it would take to recoup the cost. And if they did all they care about is profit. I believe power and Water should cover costs only. Get rid of all the grubs feeding off us

And what’s the carbon footprint of charging the battery chainsaw?
We have an aeg 58 volt mower ,trimmer and chainsaw . They work good but 1 battery has failed and the other is not healthy. $340 each and only lasted 2 years . I could have mowed our lawn for years with $340 worth of petrol.

What's the moral of these stories.
Do you cut yourself with the chainsaw then get airlifted to hospital hence more affordable flying .😀

Two stroke engines hate back pressure and the exhaust system is often a major part of the motor's performance and it's bulky, draggy and ugly like on a 582. They get full of carbon crap too. and are often fuel cooled. Nev
My thruster has the black spots on the tail feathers to prove it 😀

The 2 stroke supercharged GM diesel was not only good at converting diesel into hearing-destroying noise, they were also gutless and thirsty, too.
Oh, and they first appeared in 1937! Their time is past and they belong only in museums and historic machinery/transport exhibition days.
That noise is music to me. I have driven 892s and 71s over the years. No go but sound great.

No sound but I presume it was a clip of a GM . Nothing else sounds as good .

Yes, but sadly we now have some Flying Schools charging in excess of $300 per hour with extras on top to train for your Certificate to fly that nice cheap aircraft. Aviation has its financial vultures everywhere that raises costs, from the regulator down……..
For me it does not matter as I am near EOL, but I feel for young people who want to have a go at Aviation…….
I purchased my thruster to learn in. I supply plane instructor is $110 P/h. At the end of the course I have saved 2or 3k so my thruster will owe me about 4k and I have a great little plane that will provide a lot of fun flying until I move into a jab or gazelle. Or possibly a gyro. They seem to have a bigger following than ultralights these days.

I have often wondered why 2 strokes are not better than 4 strokes. The flimsy valve business with 4 strokes should wipe them out in comparison. The failing of some 2 strokes has been the need to mix the oil in the fuel, but this is not a 2 stroke thing but a cheap thing. Yes, the fact that crankcase compression systems cause some of the incoming charge to go straight out the exhaust is a downside. But the extra mixing of fuel/air is an upside.
What about a diesel 2 stroke? It sure has been done and it should have taken over but it didn't. I have never understood why not.
If you drove 2 stroke GM powered trucks and normal 4 strokes you would see why 4 strokes took over from them. Outboard manufacturers have made super efficient 2 strokes but the fuel systems can be finicky and they are falling by the wayside now as 4 Strokes are far more popular. Bombardier ceased outboard production this year . Sales decline for 2 strokes being one of the reasons .

any propeller is a thruster no matter which way it points. and to add to the confusion, who would want a propeller on their tractor anyway.
