  1. hahaha, FACEBOOK. a stalkers paradise!
  2. Thanks, As far as I know, next year or year 10.. we have a careers expo and the ADF comes and talks to us and stuff, might go seem them and have a chat at there area. and we have to see a careers counselor when we finish we finish like year 10 to pick our subjects/electives.
  3. Yeah over the next 10 years is apparently going to be a big time for the RAAF, with new features, equipment, ect introduced or upgraded. UAV's are one of them i think.
  4. Thanks for the information. Yeah, I've basically read heaps of stuff. Just wanted to hear it from someone in the RAAF. Well I'm 14 (15 2010), So I have a little time to make up my mind, I'd really like to join the RAAF via ADFA, as either a Pilot, or maybe Administration Officer, also Logistics Officer sounds interesting :P
  5. Anyone a RAAF Pilot, and been through ADFA, who can explain the process clearly :D ?
  6. I think your right, what I gather is you go to ADFA, do your degree, then advance to flight training. very competitive.
  7. Yeah, I'm thinking of joining the RAAF, as a pilot (as first preference) or some other position. Via ADFA.
  8. Yeah, Qantas Would Be Great. Only Difference Is That Your Not Guaranteed A Job, I Think?
  9. Maybe we could have a package, get t-shirts printed and stickers. haha. You could also try and get them cheaper by like advertising theme of the site or something, negotiate. (;
  10. Ahk. Good to hear its being looked after, haha.
  11. I'll be taking a TIF in the Eurofox sometime this January at Wangaratta Flight Training Centre/ Wang Aero Club (Dont really know the difference :P). I like to hear "no airways or landing fees and you dont spend half your time waiting on the taxi way", more time in the air ;D
  12. Did the Eurofox replace this? haven't seen it on the Aero Clubs Website, although apparently its getting updated. I thought you may have sold it and replaced it with the Eurofox because the WFTC hasn't got it on its website.
  13. get back to work :P
  14. Sue, some great advice and information. Gave me some knowledge, I also am interested in getting a job as a airline pilot. I'll be able to tick off TIF on your list of "Things To Do" Sometime Next Week Of The Week After, Cant wait! Daniel a good idea (you might have already done this..) is to open a new savings account, joined to your streamline account which frequently withdraws money from you streamline account say each week into your savings account for your flying lessons so that you are saving. I do this but also have another account for a car. although i tend to put some more money in the flying account then the car :P -Jack, 14.
  15. it's an old thread. i replied because im going to be learning to fly in a eurofox. so it came up again as active.
  16. That is sort of good and bad. Bad for the people whose flying schools are shutting down, but good for the current student pilots that want to become a commercial pilot at a major company in the few few years or so with the shortage and stuff. -Jack
  17. Hello (: Sorry for the late Hello *waves*! Just thought I'd say that I'm going to be learning to fly in a Eurofox at the local Aero Club. Some person in their 80's brought the aircraft from Horsham Aviation and is being used at Wang Aero Club I've been told. Also I have been told they are great aircraft to learn in (although you don't really need to know seeing as you have a license) Cant Wait . -Jack
  18. I thought this flight safety video would get peoples attention and was pretty cute. lol.
  19. Hey There. I'm sort of in the same position as you (I'm a guy though ). I joined here a little while ago, and the forum members are great here. so don't be scared to ask and questions they are happy to ask all your questions. I'm also 14 and going into Year 9 in 2010, I decided I wanted to be a pilot after flying from Melbourne to Queensland.. I did a lot of research on the net how to get a license and so. So I finally decided this year for one of my Christmas presents to be a TIF at the local aero club, I organised a gift voucher to use over the six week holidays, so soon I'll have flown a aircraft and clocked my first 30 minutes in my logbook, haha (every little bit counts :D). I'd also like to make my way to commercial and then become an instructor to help kids-adults get there pilots license :D. Oh, and if you are wondering about what students pilots go through when making their way to getting there license and whats install for your when you have some (well many) flight lessons, check out a Students Pilot Blog. There are heaps around I enjoy ready A Need For Airspeed (which is a female going through to get her pilots certificate, correct me if I'm wrong Darky :P) and mine that will be finally done and ready by the end of my holidays or once I have taken to the skies, doing my TIF. Mine is Student Flight which isn't fully finished yet (what do you think of the theme, hmm?) . Anyway, good luck in the future. and cant wait to hear about your times in the sky. -Jack
  20. Thanks for the help, yeah I was looking at the ATC theory books. ill check out the Dyson-Holland ones too. and also ask my instructor ;D
  21. Hello, I was just wondering what theory books did/do you use? Just wondering because being a student pilot myself soon ;D, I'd like to know what you use and what did you think they were good. -Jack :clown:
  22. haha, i will,. seeing as i haven't started already. once i get a job in January (when i legally can), i'm thinking most of my money will go towards it, haha. (and also apply to that GYFTS or whatever acronym it is, next year :P),
  23. just read your article in the December issue of RA-Aus mag, cant wait to start my lessons, haha. i think i may need to save up a little longer than you, to get my pilot certificate, in the Eurofox ^^.
