Fun isn't it, been doing the same thing for a long time now, I use to fly down the strip to scare them off then turn and land before the Roos came back ! The othe day I flew low to scare them off and the Roos hid under a tree ! So I couldn't buzz them ! Bloody big tree !

Your living the dream !

You are probably right but they are told but they don't seem to register everything until they are ready to,!!!
Instructor Patter ! " Scan around but keep on your aiming reference point " , " scan but do not fixate on any one thing as it will distract you "
Does any of this sound familiar ?
-
It is a basic lesson taught to students landing ! To look at aiming point not at obstaclecles but scan and go back to aiming point ! It is a basic mistake to fixate to the side or elsewhere and ignore aiming point on runway !Should be taught as a subject in HF. -
Hi, I haven't done it ( I'm an instructor) but if you see ops manual you will see qualifications from any country are recognised.
See ops manual for RAA https://www.raa.asn.au/storage/5-om-71-august-2016-single-pages.pdf.
The CFI that recognises your qualifications must have the actual qualification himself ! So if you have various endorsements make sure CFI has them.
Duty of CFI, Conduct ground and in-flight training for Student or Converting Pilots and Pilots in accordance with the requirements of this manual and relevant legislaton. The training provided is limited to actvities the CFI is authorised to undertake by virtue of Endorsements and Approvals held by the CFI.

Through bolts are replaced on the top overhaul ! See Jabiru web site for manuals !4-6 weeks she sits in hangar waiting for air work, and it’s not for very long as I don’t have time for long stints these days. Grummo advised leak down test as nev has said suspecting valve stems. Mark at jabiru says through bolts are done in full overhaul and not top end for my engine being 730 + serial number. Perhaps a good flogging may sort my issues out, or at least bring them to head..http://www.jabiru.net.au/Manuals/Engine/JEM0001-12_Overhaul_Manual.pdf#page55

Top overhaul requires replacement of things mentioned by Biggles plus big end bearings shells and bolts, crank timing gear, distrubtor shafts, seals ! See Jabiru website ! So the motor does need to come out to access timing case, if you are experimental and don't need to do everything it is still worth buying the full top overhaul kit as it is good value. Get a local engine place to do valve seats and bore honing !
I stripped my 3300 and had Heads and barrels done local ( mid north coast ) I reassembled and it's running happily ! Can give name of engine place if you want !

Just looked at Viking 130 video and looks good !

Im sure of one thing if he done it to me it would be the first after the latter had occurred ! It is unexcusable to leave an accident let alone fly after a prop strike ! But the horror that he damaged someones goods and took off literally after refueling ! Hope they throw the book at him with a few rotton tomatoes as well ! A disgracefull act and would be hard to excuse this kind of behaviour !True but it's called fight of flight when any human is faced with shock, in this case the latter!! -
Hi Karl, Very impressive photos, looks good, I'm not a builder, so excuse my question, but is testing tanks with water a safe method as I would think leaks would still be possible with fuel ?

I have experience on many types GA and RAA with some hours in Foxbats ! The Foxbat is a very easy, stable and good performing aircraft ! It has a low stall speed and a reasonable cruise speed ! It is also part of the reason the high performance and low performance endorsement was replaced by type as the Foxbat easily fits in both categories !
It can easy handle various conditions that other aircraft are not so easy ! In my opinion a very easy aircraft to learn to fly or teach with and probably too easy !
I agree totally with pylon500 comments !

Shocking is correct !!!At a guess, I would say in shock...- 1

Someone this short of intelligence should not be allowed out anywhere ! You do have to be smarter than this for sure ! This is insanity !!Wow you sure don't have to be clever to fly a plane. -
This person must be a mental case ! To have this sort of accident ! Or was it accidental as it is impossible to get that close without contact ! Maybe his eyes are painted on ! Then to not report it to the other owner or did he ! So rude of this person to destroy and leave !!!! But then to fly off ! With damage to his own aircraft !!!!! This is insane ! It would be best if this person gave up flying and any other activity in close proximity to other humans or equipment ! I'm shocked ! Totally shocked !!!!!!! No care, no guilt, no sense , no idea !

Nothing wrong with composites ! My fibreglass yacht is 40 years old.
See, Composites: Airbus continues to shape the future.
Airbus A350 vs the Dreamliner: Which new plane is best on a long haul?
Composite - Airbus Helicopters

I suggest things are a lot better than your suggesting ! Unfortunately some people want to bend rules ! My travels have seen a few cowboys but generally pretty good ! I think RAA is being very helpful and supportive of their schools and the GA schools that do RAA too shows the system works. What a mess this whole Ra-Aus thing is. It is incredible that so many people...including instructors...have no idea of the rules regarding their operations. Incredible and a very sure sign that things are still far from okay in my opinion. The RAA schools are the way all GA school would like to operate !
The system is good ! I’m very happy the way things are run !
People who take risks or break rules will always be about to have a problem !

Easy question ! The P76 went back for lots of warranty work, let me guess ! first the alternator went ! Then there was a recall for a new oil pump on V8 and leaking valley gasket, the car leaked water especially in the boot in heavy rain, the gauges and switches were intermittent , brake booster problems, oh and It leaked oil ! We use to say if Leyland made a drip tray it would leak too !This guy at work bought a Volvo ( $7,600 ) the very same week I bought a P76 ($2,400). Yes it was a long time ago for those prices huh.One car was back at the dealers lots in the first year, the other went 360,000k with only tyres and a muffler to buy over the years.Guess which was which.
