Same thing used to happen in my PA28. I checked and found it was common and not a problem.

My father in law arranged to fly the first cattle into PNG. They landed at Port Moresby from Queensland in a Bristol Freighter.

Australia had many deadly animals. The deadliest is the horse, with around 120 deaths each year from horse-related accidents.

Because you can't have a plane crash report in the media without inserting the following terms or headlines .....
"Horror"
"Stunned"
"Shock"
"Screaming in fear"
"Pilot wrestling with the controls"
"Cessna"
"CASA are investigating". 😄

There are plenty of videos of sovereign citizens being arrested in the USA . They seem to have a serious mental defect coupled with a mania like members of a religious cult.

The old Kwaka triple two-stroke used to put out some power when it hit its rev band.

Instinctively handling the yaw didn't work for me yesterday. I flew for the first time after two months away on holiday and couldn't get my feet to work. A few circuits and a short local got me back into it, but the first takeoff had me way left of centreline. I think the three takeoffs and landings before taking passengers is a good rule!

Who hasn’t had a door pop open? It seems a big problem in the Bonanza for some reason.

For those who don't know, Cavorite is a fictional material first depicted by H. G. Wells in The First Men in the Moon, a 1901 scientific romance. Developed by Cavor, a reclusive physicist, it has the ability to negate the force of gravity,

I bought a new one in 2011 and flew it for several years. I was very happy with it. They have been used for training quite successfully, that’s where mine went. Visibility was excellent, I didn’t have any issues flying it except a tendency to land hard if you pulled power.

That was my thinking, I had an ASIC from when they came in, but this time I decided to follow the instructions on the ASIC application. It says that you can only apply if you have a regular need to access security controlled airports. I have only done it half a dozen times in twenty years so I should not apply for an ASIC.

I recently got an AVID which cost, I think, around $100. It is just a letter saying that you have had a security check. I have not found out when or where to use it. I am particularly interested to know whether it will save me from a fine if I enter a security controlled airport alone or with passengers. If not, what is it for?

Remember that short woman, lovely Rita metre maid?

I just spent a couple of hours in the Flight section of the Science Museum on South Kensington. I love the place, it has the best collection of aero engines anywhere, more than fifty I guess. Not many aircraft, but a Spit, a Hurricane and the Alcock and Brown Vimy. My first visit for at least fifteen years.
They had a series of displays about important people in aviation, in about twenty panels spread around the gallery. I expected I would know most of them but I didn’t know any. The people displayed were, in no particular order, the first Indian fighter pilot, the first black British pilot, the first disabled British pilot (missing an eye and an arm), a couple of first female pilots, the first gay RAF pilot to come out, and so on. I am still thinking about what it means, and what it will mean to the mainly young visitors who want to learn about the history of British aviation.

Last time was a bad experience that I don’t need to repeat. Driving, parking, heat and facilities.

I have always hoped that the aviation site would attract a lot more international members. I think it has in recent months, but still not to the level that it might. I think some people here put them off at times by saying this is an Australian aviation site.

Air India crash

I wonder whether a quick sharp blow, accidentally when removing hand from the throttles, could trip the two switches. Particularly if the detents were worn or somehow out of spec.
