Aviation theme - Flight Training Experiance Fly-in incorporating the Gathering of the Harvards and Wirraways

I wish to thank all those who came along and supported the event this year.

Such support is never taken for granted.

All these appearing aircraft made a major contribution to the sucess of this charity event so I can not express enough my appreciation to the above operators of these aircraft. And wish to also extend this to all the vollunteers as well, from those working and looking after the airside to the setting up and pull down crews and all those involved in the catering. Massive job for the time frame alocated.

And thank you to the local Regional Council too, who have been very accomodating and for next year we are looking to make big changes with the set-up too, especially getting the aircraft closer to the public. Which I know wasn't the easiest this year, however we had guidelines to work to. just a matter of getting the balance right. But there will be changes to the set-up. And yes from all post event reports looks very positive for the event to be run next year.

Oh and not to mention the 576 vehicles which were displayed as well. vehicles from 1908 through to the some of the newer Lamboghini's (which spit had already been kind to mention) and all the other vintage classic types one could imagine. A very special and unique event.

    Kind regards

    Scott

  4. Hi all

Just letting those know in the Maryborough QLD area that a group of us are heading up to maryborough this coming weekend for an adventure flight weekend from toowoomba. the ground crew will be rocking up on friday along with a couple of aircraft with some more arriving on saturday. So we will be looking to make a bit of noise over the coast.

    regards

    Scott

  5. G'day all and really good to hear the positive comments about the event

One of the things we are going to work seriously on is public access to the aircraft. i know it wasn't easy and we had guidelines we had to work with. However we had the council reps from the monster devision in attendance and they were the first to aknowledge that it was hard to get people closer so expect changes to the format for next. Yes thats right, I have the green light to start organising next year so watch this space for the dates and the new theme.

And really wish to pass on a sincere note of gratitude to those who came along to support the event whether they drove or flew in. Without that support it would not have been the success it was.

    Regards

    Scott

  6. G'day Spin

Looks like we maybe in luck with the weather.

The weekly outlook (on ABC TV anyway) is looking good.

Looks as though a High is going to dominate as the week progresses and theyare talking partly cloudy and sunshine for next weekend. Now the only factor left in this is hopefully the wind is not bad and favours 11 or 29 as 06/24 will be closed Saturday afternoon, refer to ERSA.

Other aircraft types penciled in for the event under the flight training theme include but not limited to, 5 North American T-28 Trojans, with the possibility of another T-28B passing through on the Sunday

  8. I am pleased to advise that after an exstensive restoration program by Sandora Aviation at Caboolture QLD SNJ-4, VH-NAG has been completed and all the small "Bugs" have been attended too and she now flies on and will be flying on a regular basis.

The Harvard will be making her public debut at the David Hack Classic Meet - "Gathering of the Harvards & Wirraways"
