  1. G'day Peter and welcome,

    I checked out your kitfox at farri's place a few weeks ago. I think one of the photos in my album here titled Farri's Place might have your kitfox in the background, all folded up in Farri's hangar.

    Cheers,

  2. Always liked the look of thrusters, people always say good things about them but there seem to be not that many getting around. Do they still make them?

    Nope, haven't been made for a long time now - well the T500s that is. You can get a new Thruster T600 Sprint, and other variations from http://www.thruster.co.uk/spec/

    My advice would be to have a good look around for a 2nd hand one. You should be able to pick up a T500 for $15,000 or so - cheaper for some earlier versions.

  3. Pass on felicitations & regards when you do catch up with Pud. Also get his instructions as to how many beers I have to consume on his behalf at all the fly-ins that he's missing in the West whilst he's on the wallaby. Lightwings..... provided the refurbished radio/comms doesn't speak Urdu and not too much smoke escapes from the wiring when we flash it up, hope to get my 912GR in the air this weekend after many months of medication ( it, not me). cheers y'all

    From memory, you don't need any instructions when it comes to consumption of the amber nectar Riley:cheers:

    How did you go with the Lightwing, did the smoke stay corralled inside the insulation?

    I'm back in the west now and wading through dozens of photos - hope to post some soon..........

  4. Well my T500 is hangared at North Gabbin which is 3 hours one way from my place to the hangar door where I also have an old caravan I sleep in. Being so far away means an overnight stay in the old caravan or at Pol's place (700m through the scrub) if we talk too long into the night.

    Pud.

    PS. Just drove 10,000 kms there and back, just to go for a fly with farri and maj - would do it again in a heart beat!!!

  5. G'day Everyone,

    Thanks to Maj for starting this thread; I will post up some photos and impressions of our visit to farri's place once I get back home in September. For now I'm just blown away with the generosity of Frank and his good wife Fran, Maj for flying up to Frank's place so we could swap yarns and 'tell lies' to one another on the beach, and to Frank Marriot in Townsville for giving me an hour of his time to talk aviation. Thanks to you all.

    We are currently in Mount Isa for a couple of nights before heading for Alice Springs - will take about 2 weeks to get home.

    Cheers,

    I went there once and got a severe case of what too many prunes will give most people.... I don't go there anymore!!!

  9. Thanks Pud ,it always surprises me that this is one of the most beautiful places in the world to fly ,,,yet no flying clubs ,,very sad :{

    I think it's a numbers thing Richard. Even down south here around Perth the Rec Flying type clubs are few and far between. That's not to say they are not successful, just not a lot around.
