How about right here under 'Resources' in the top bar of this screen.

PS. Hmmm, should have tried it first! Not available at the moment here either! Ian, can you update so it will still be available here?

It didn't happen unless photos are forthcoming... Let's see'em.Hello Pud, hope you and your lovely wife are well, I shaved my legs the other day so they are not hairy anymore !.............................................Maj...We are all good over here in the West, waiting for visitors from the East - when you coming?
I'm a bit envious of Ian on that beach with the paraglider and Sav, 'cos I know what it's like!!!

Very lucky that the second half of the runway did not have as much mud, otherwise could have been real messy, me thinks!!!

Good medical advice
1. F***ing once a week is good for your health, but its harmful if done every day. 2. F***ing relaxes your mind & body.
3. F***ing refreshes you.
4. After F***ing don’t eat too much; go for more liquids.
5. Try f***ing in bed cause it can save you valuable energy.
6. F***ing can even reduce your cholesterol levels.
SO, REMEMBER ...
Fasting is good for health
&
may the good Lord cleanse your dirty mind..

A recent study found that the average Aussie walks about 900 miles a year. Another study found that Aussies drink, on average, 22 Gallons of alcohol a year. That means that, on average, Aussies Get about 41 miles to the gallon!!
"Makes you damned proud to be an Aussie!"

Just imagine. If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Qantas One year ago, you would have $49.00 today. If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in AIG one year ago, you would have $33.00 today.
If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Lehman Brothers onenYear ago, you would have $0.00 today.
But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank
all, the beer, then turned in the aluminium cans for recyclingn refund, you would have received $214.00!
Based on the above, the best current investment plan is to drink Heavily & recycle.

Australian Medical Association researchers have found that patients needing blood transfusions may benefit from receiving chicken blood rather than human blood.
It tends to make the men cocky and the women lay better.
Just thought you'd like to know.

Modern Technology
I was visiting my son and daughter-in-law last night when I asked if I could borrow a newspaper.
"This is the 21st century, Dad , ' he said. " We don't waste money on newspapers.
Here, you can borrow my i-Pad."
-------I can tell you, that bloody fly never knew what hit it...

Or bury him deeper:yikes:Then he won't be able to see the far end of the runway, won't know when to flare. That's got to cause a big bounce or two. -
Do you remove the cover before flying? The aircraft is built and flown but I still make sure I am inside at 9.30 pm...to keep her happy with my little pitot tubePud

Too true. Wayne did my skins for the Thruster. I recommend him. Also has an application on line so you can play with different colour combinations. Give it a go here http://xsymetrix.com.au/wingskin/ie5/index.html?dhtmlActivation=inplaceWayne Fisher at Lismore will run you a set up does a great job. had him do mine a couple of years back.Just thinking along the lines of utilising a local sailmaker for drifter11, when I did my last post.
Pud

Can you take the old sail to the sail maker for a pattern?
one of the forumites here, farri, makes his own sails for a Drifter - send him a PM. He may be able to help with information.

I would like to think you are correct, rather than crazy win!!!Affordable flying will always be popular... If only the "Industry" would recognize this and provide suitable aircraft accordingly...I will provide a quote from 2011 SPORT PILOT Magazine from the 'Boss' at a popular Aussie aircraft manufacturer..."Our market is changing from flying enthusiasts to turn key pilots. There is a lot of competition now with over 100 other Light Sport Aircraft manufacturers as well as an ever growing array of "boys toys" competing for the dollar once the family has left home and the mortgage paid"...
Once the family has left home and the mortgage paid......Hmmm
That doesn't describe most of the people I know who are wanting to fly... and the GFC or whatever comes next has or will put paid to a generation that has the capacity to buy an aeroplane off "retirings"... I reckon someone is reading the market wrong and what is really needed are proper affordable ultralight flying machines within the simple framework of the older "ultralight" regulations...
Am I crazy?
However, I believe the economics are not there for someone to start up a manufacturing aircraft business catering for an 'entry level' type machine of the sort you describe. Any takers out there want to give it a go?

Interesting maj. It seems there is not a lot you can do in a 582 except not do long descents without warming the engine from time to time, and being aware when conditions are ripe for icing i.e. mainly humidity and cool conditions, although temperature would be a secondary consideration after humidity. I can see, around my area at least, these conditions would be present on cool winter mornings (when I like to fly) and also during that time before thunderstorms develop (sultry?), when I don't like to fly as the conditions are often unpleasant then. I also like to fly very early mornings in the middle of summer - dry as a wooden god, so very little risk then of carby icing I imagine.

And that friends, if you fly for fun, is what it's all about.
Thanks for posting win.

So, would the consensus be to warm a Rotax engine on prolonged idle settings such as in a long descent? We are talking Australian conditions here, although we have a large range of climatic conditions anyway.
If so, would you always do this, or only when conditions are conducive to icing?
I remember farri telling me he has had carby icing on a Rotax - can't remember if it was a 503 or 582 though. I assume this was in the Cairns region, so quite tropical and humid conditions I expect.

Looks to me like he had way too much right aileron in to counteract the crosswind.

I use an Odyssey PC680 rated at 220 cca.

Yeah, I hear you daz, and I can see where you are coming from.
Maybe my term "BS" was a bit strong but I was there to get signed out on the Thruster - I already had an RAAus certificate so it seemed a bit strange to teach me 'undercarriage down' on a Thruster. Correct me if I'm wrong, but recreational aircraft on the RAAus register with retractable undercarriage would be in the minority wouldn't they?
