When I first saw this advertised in the RA-Aus mag I sent an email asking from an indicative price. Funny thing, they didn't reply. Guess I need to show up with bank manager in hand before they'll talk. .

It looks like a tick with the letters ABC over it and I believe it is iespell and it works very well

I'M wondering when you go for the medical to obtain a license or certificate what are they looking for.

Or what are the pass criteria.

I was told by an optometrist that the to pass the eye examination the future pilot had to be able to read text at a certain distance from the eye?

I'm wondering what the difference between RAA and GA Licenses.

It may be a silly question but I believe Ive not been told honestly previously

Many years ago I went though the exercise of inquiring about getting a pilots license and was told a grand figure and was also told the training had to be done within a certain time and to keep the license a minimum flying hours had to be kept a year.

I'm now told this is not true?

A RAA instructor told me recently the only difference between the RAA And GA was RAA couldn't land a some Airport in Melbourne.

I PMed someone locally that had just obtained they pilots certificate his opinion was go for RAA unless I'm planning on a career(I got told 10 years ago I was to old to be taken on by a company as a pilot (I'm now 46 years old))

I even inquire about rotary wing and got told around $30.000 to Commercial license

I guess the question is what are the restriction on RAA and what do other readers think??

A Guy from a local flying school just showed me a PPL book in the form of a folder written by Ian Someone (If my memory's correct)He told me it was more or less a condensed version of all the book leading up to ppl.

lots of color pictures etc

free to air satellites where you can watch the news readers etc when they are off the air and other outside broadcasts, Formula 1 etc. It's all good fun. .

A Bit off the track of this forum but where I once worked a Guy had put up a Satellite dish and hooked up a receiver and Monitor

And we sat and watch the TV stations OB feed to the Stations

I was out at the local airfield (Latrobe Valley) the other day Talking to a flying instructor who turned on his scanner and got a local weather report.

He told me it ran 24/7 and the frequency was 128.2.

When I got home I punched 128.2 into my scanner and heard nothing.

My scanner only receives AM in this band.

So I'm wondering is this the right Frequency or is it on the FM Band??

Can someone shed some light on this as I'm a complete newbie

A blonde drivin down the road when she hears a siren behind her.

She pulls over and a blonde female copper walks up and asks for her license.

The blonde fumbles around in her bag for a few seconds and then asks the cop what it looks like.

The copper replies, its a small square thing with your picture on it.

The blonde fumbles around some more and pulls out a small mirror, looks into it and hands it to the cop.

A blond, a brunette, and a redhead were trying out for a new NASA experiment on sending women to different planets. First, they called the brunette in and asked her a question.

"If you could go to any planet, what planet would you want to go to and why?"

After pondering the question she answered, "I would like to go to Mars because it seems so interesting with all the recent news about possible extra terrestrial life on the planet."

They said "well okay, thank you." And told her that they would get back to her.

Next, the redhead entered the room and the NASA people asked her the same question. In reply, "I would like to go to Saturn to see all of its rings." Again, "thank you" and they would get back to her.

Finally, the blond entered the room and they asked her the same question they asked the brunette and the redhead. She thought for a while and replied, "I would like to go to the sun."

The people from NASA replied, "why, don't you know that if you went to the sun you would burn to death?"

The blond smirked and put her hands on her hips. "Are you guys dumb? I'd go at night!"

A blonde goes into a store that sells curtains.

She tells the salesman, "I would like to buy a pair of pink curtains."

The salesman assured her that they had a large selection of pink curtains. He showed her several patterns,but the blonde seemed to be having a hard time choosing.

Finally, she selects a lovely pink floral print.

The salesman asked what size curtains she needed.

The blonde replies, "Fifteen inches."

"Fifteen inches??", asked the salesman, "that sounds very small.

What room are they for?" The blonde says, "Oh, they are not for any room - they are for my computer monitor."

The surprised salesman replies, "But, Miss, computers do not have curtains."

The blonde says,
