If you like the sound of a few airplanes, which I do, certainly up that way there are some bargains to be had.

Maybe they were too young for 2CHI don't know what you guys with your "loud pipes save lives" are on.I got knocked off some time back by the Coppers for having the radio up to loud on my Goldwing.I think when he pulled me up and asked why the radio was so loud possibly I shouldn't have said, "you are going to have to speak up mate I am deaf".
No sense of humour some coppers.

A few months ago I looked at a nice little 2 bedroom unit at Tweed Heads South simply out of curiosity, and could not believe the price when compare to Sydney prices. It backed onto the water with lovely water views, and my small boat could have been only 50mtrs away and it was going for a little over $200 grand. Someone pointed out that it was a bit noisy as its almost in line with the runway at Coolangatta. So what? The aircraft are up at least 1000ft by then and the price was right. I'd have known that beforehand if I decided to purchased it.

I remember the feeling well as they flew past at low altitude and the Db meter goes off the clock.
Your whole body and the ground seemed to viberate.
An awe inspiring feeling that lives on in one's memory.

Forget the women, just get on with the story:tongue in cheek:

Till then just get on with the building.
We're all waiting for some pic's of your Zenith.
How long before it's finished Marty?

Our chairman, Big Prop Bob Arnold,. . .( AKA Santa's little helper - no I dunno either ! ) AIrcraft is a veteran Whittaker MW6, this aircraft has won British National Microlight championship competitions in Russia, France, and lots of other places in Eastern Europe some years ago, flown by Test Pilot Eddie Clapham. It has been "Looped" 15 times in succession, and travelled more miles than Antoine de Saint Exupery. . . . it has a Rotax 582 - 2 stroke, ( premix ) with a fluid gearbox, allowing for the monstrous propeller, which, as you can possible see from the photo, only clears the pod by 49 mm. It is a rather low revving prop, but carries all of the fat Gits at our airfield with consummate ease, and takes off, no matter what the load, in a very short space.; usually, in nil wind, around fifty metres or less. The airframe has in excess of 7,000 hours, and it is on it's sixth engine. . . . Bob flies this more than anyone else, is an ex gliding instructor and often flies it backwards in strong winds. . . ( and I thought all the weird characters were in Australia. . . ) Bob never flies anywhere without his goodly supply of strawberry milk. . . .but WILL steal any red wine he sees being consumed at the airfield bar when he get's back from one of his odysseys. . . . . ( I made the pod stickers as a joke six years ago,. . .and he's never bothered to peel 'em off ! ) I first encountered this thing in 1985 at the Microlight Nationals at Haverfordwest, ( West Wales ) flown by a guy called Steve Slade, who is a paraplegic pilot. He asked me if I could remove his crutches from inside the wingtip spar tubes,. . .where they were wired in. . . . .tell you what,. . . .there are some characters about in the UK as well. . . Steve holds the UK record for the most airfields landed at from dawn to dusk in a competitioon five years ago. . .never beaten. . . .
Phil.
With all that history, it almost qualifies for the London to Brighton.
Do you have any idea when it was built?

Thanks for sharing that.
Can understand your excitement and loss for words.

Looks like they still have a fair bit of work ahead of them, but should be well worth all the effort.
All these rest'os should make Howie feel proud of what he's provided us with.

My son has a fully-worked Nissan 180 SX Drift Car and doesn't know what the red line means. It looks like "Puffin Billy" now too, so i'll show him just once how to re-build it, then I'll show him what being retired really means.

I know what you mean Alan, been there, done that, but what a wake-up call it can be. Get in as early as you can.
My PSA was really quite high but I had brachy-seed therapy asap ( took two years as I don't have money behind me)and now it's 0.003 Yee Ha! Probably die from $2 clean-skins now, or worrying about you blokes.

I'd have to agree with the above, but there are so many more guys on here that we'd also miss when that sad day comes and we don't expect it.I too have only just caught up on this sad news. With his passing goes the collected knowledge of all things aeronauticle. Thank you Pud for sharing your experiences and insights with us while you could.Enjoy life while you are able.
Above all, fulfill your dreams while you can, you can't expect much more that that!
I certainly don't!

Keep us posted as to how you progress.

Which only goes to prove that none of us know what's around the corner, so try and make of life, what you'd wish it to be.
Thanks for your contributions mate, you'll not be forgotten by so many of us.

Did you know that Saturn is less dense overall than water? If you could find a bathtub big enough and fill it with water, it would float......But it would leave a ring.
Are you serious, or simply trying to lead us astray?
