From a photographic point of view, it looks like photo was taken during a high MOON.

Keep yer chin up OME mate, as sad as it is.
We'd understand you'd be feeling very emotionable, that's only natural.

Good to hear from you Andy though under sad circumstances, thought you were off with the drones?ywed is one of the more challenging strips to fly into ( and out of)There's a slope, it's narrow, walled by trees and little or no options in an Efato.I don't allow students to solo in there as a rule. Regsrdless, if this accident was an approach stall, it's probably little to do with the strip. Although I will say, the field has featured in several fatals over the past couple of years, either as a departure or destination point.
This is a terrible loss, I know the pilot and our thoughts are with the families today.
Take care

Don't spoil a good post.

I thought there may possibly have been a likeness with a certain Mexican Jab Jockey.
But I could be wrong----often am!

Funny you should say that. He was bare-footed on most of the occasions that I chatted to him. Maybe he had a bit of hippie in him, but I'm sure we are all grateful for the huge contributions that he made to ultra-light flying, which so many have learned and benefited from.

That's interesting Ozzie!Scotts personal Sapphire had a 2 cyl Rolls Royce engine.Chatted to Scott many times, but he never mentioned that it had a 2cyl Roller in it.
Presumeably like a cut-down which they do with the V Dub's?

There's probably still an AJS single attached to a school-made PBK14 canoe with outrigger, at the bottom of the River Thames just west of Hampton Court bridge, if it's still there. Made by "nutty" Planey and his stupid cousin a few decades ago if your interested in a cheap resto project Nev.

Only just caught up with this post. Loved it! Thanks Techy.
Good job Lady Luck was also in attendance to offer her support.

Just a bit tiring getting in and out when about to make a right turn.

In answer to that question...........I guess you have to land before you take off.If it's 8 hours from bottle to throttle, what's the time from high to sky?-

Just over half a century ago, I used to buy a pint of hempseed for ninepence from the local corn merchants.
After simmering in a saucepan of water for about 10mins the seed split and a tiny shoot popped out the side.
It made great bait for river fishing.
I doubt they'd sell it these days.

Love the radial, lots of smooth power there.
