Sadly, Peter, a lot of what you say is true. However, many who do their own maintenance, are not as good as others at what they do, and the same goes for the manner in the way they operate them.

With diligent attention to detail in that regard, many, (admittedly not all) seem to give good service for the money paid.

We'd all like the best available, but as the old saying go's, one pays the money and makes their choice, though this doesn't please everyone..

What gives ? You have a printed copy of the magazine but there is not even this copy on the RA-Aus website. How does this happen?

Hi Debbie, sincerely hope some kind soul has been able to overcome the problem you had getting your pride and joy into the hangar.

A small fabricated steel frame dynabolted to the floor, with a cheap boat winch set at a comfortable height, should make it easy to pull in, and above all cheap to make.

Not heard any positive progress reports, which is a shame.

Hope someone local comes to your aid.

Anyone in the club with a welder should be able to knock one up in no time

A little disappointing you didn't get a shot of the beautiful orange & blue beast next to it.......

Loved the beautifully restored Tiger Moth opposite it though, it looked almost brand new. They were the only two aircraft in the hangar at the time I was shown around.

The whole thing is so sad at least he won't have to suffer the cancer treatment any more.

So sorry for your loss Tim, and any others close to him.

I'm sure that's what he would have wanted for all.

And remember that the weakest part of the structure is probably near the edge of the weld seam, though if tempered, that can relieve some of the stress which can cause failure.

Suicide bombers in Britain are set to begin a three-week strike on Wednesday in a dispute over the number of virgins they are entitled to in the afterlife. Emergency talks with Al Qaeda have so far failed to produce an agreement.

The unrest began last Tuesday when Al Qaeda announced that the number of virgins a suicide bomber would receive after his death would be cut by 25% this February from 72 to 54. A spokesman said increases in recent years in the number of suicide bombings has resulted in a shortage of virgins in the afterlife.

The suicide bombers' union, the British Organization of Occupational Martyrs (B.O.O.M.) responded with a statement saying the move was unacceptable to its members and called for a strike vote. General Secretary Abdullah Aloud Bang told the press, "Our members are literally working themselves to death in the cause of Jihad. We don't ask for much in return but to be treated like this is like a kick in the teeth".

Speaking from his shed in Tipton in the West Midlands, Al Qaeda chief executive Aisheet Mapants Shorten explained, "I sympathize with our workers concerns but Al Qaeda is simply not in a position to meet their demands. They are simply not accepting the realities of modern-day Jihad in a competitive marketplace. Thanks to Western depravity, there is now a chronic shortage of virgins in the afterlife. It's a straight choice between reducing expenditures or laying people off. I don't like cutting benefits but I'd hate to have to tell 3,000 of my staff that they won't be able to blow themselves up."

Spokespersons for the union in the North East of England, Ireland, Wales and the entire Australian continent stated that the change would not hurt their membership as there are so few virgins in their areas anyway.

According to some industry sources, the recent drop in the number of suicide bombings has been attributed to the emergence of Scottish singing star, Susan Boyle. Many Jihadists now know what a virgin looks like and have reconsidered their benefit packages
