Hi Deskpilot,
Been following your design from the start, where are you up to with it.
I've had a passion for the tailboom propeller aircraft because of the protection given to the prop and the better efficiency.
Counter rotating props could be done without being complicated.
I've been tinkering with a boom prop design myself.

Hi Ian,
Are you still sending out the "Last week's most popular topics" each weekend ??
I haven't been receiving anything since August last year.
Cheers,
Graeme

Well, the latest news for the Aquila Airpark in Maryborough is : DEAD
There has been no interest shown since the FCRC Approval and the owner/developer has called it quits; he's not prepared to spend $5M on the off chance some aviators may become interested.
He has the property up for sale on https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-qld-yengarie-130542762
Development Approval has lapsed and is not included, but could be resubmitted by new owners.

Did you get my emails of 9.12.18 and 18.12.18

Hi Ian,
Have you fixed that link "Please see here for details of being registered as a Supplier"
I am waiting to register for the products that I sent you in emails which haven't been acknowledged as yet.
I would like to get it done before January 1st 2019
Cheers

Hi Ian
Your link, "Please see here for details of being registered as a Supplier" is not working.
Does it still exist
Cheers

Yes, it was a great day for the first time event at Maryborough Airport and the word is; it could now be an annual event.
Congratulations to all the organisers and helpers for a great trouble free day out.

At Maryborough Airport in Queensland a New Military Aviation Museum has been formed and we are looking for any aviation material you may have hidden away in storage somewhere.
If anyone has any parts of aircraft or airforce memorabilia pertaining to the Maryborough Wireless Training base during the second world war, please contact me by PM
One main aircraft that the museum is focusing on is the CAC Wackett Trainer, so if anyone has a spare plane sitting in their old shed (any condition is OK) or any parts from one please let us know.
Any donations of memorabilia would be greatly appreciated as this is a not for profit organisation.

I'm looking for a secondhand Ballistic Recovery System for 270kg or 350kg size that has never been deployed but may need repacking.
If you have one you would like to sell let me know.

Would there be any qualified or university students involved in Aerospace Engineering who are members of Recreational Flying and could be interest in working on a special Aviation project.
Located in Queensland would be good; Sunshine coast to Bundaberg would be better.
It may lead to new innovations in the aviation industry.

This is the same phone number used by the scammer, looks like its from Romania

Always ask for as much information as possible and in the case of an engine; the serial number.
Then you can give Bert Flood Imports a call and they will tell you who owns the engine and where it should be located anywhere in the world, not just Australia.
You should treat every advert as a scam until you have checked all the details, serial numbers included.
-
Can you give us a good clear photo of the AMP sticker on the bottom of the unit; are there any serial numbers on it?

I don't really know, I am guessing it is a HUD; but with the airspeed and altitude being low I would say it maybe used in a cropduster aircraft or similar.
They're one aircraft you can't afford to be looking down at instruments all the time when doing regular tight maneuvers.
It's only a guess.

Using Google Earth to measure the runway length, I get 1500 mts overall length, 1000 mts overall for the black surface and 920 mts from taxi entry point on 02.For that type of aircraft the way I see it is, assuming the take-off was from the entry point on 02, there should have been enough runway ahead to abort and land if a reasonable climb rate wasn`t being held and if the climb rate was acceptable, the AC should have had more than enough hight, at the end of the runway, to clear the surrounding obstacles` safely.
Even allowing for wind sheer, I find it hard to see how the AC ended up where it did if the take-off was from the beginning of the runway.
Frank.
It would appear he's short sheeted his take off; too lazy to taxi to the end of 02
The winds here are mostly between NE to SE and the strip is lined with high trees along its eastern side so you won't get any true wind indication till you get above tree height.
Below the "EXPERIMENTAL" sticker on the instrument panel should be "IF YOU HAVE 1000mts OF RUNWAY; USE IT!"
That said, glad to hear he's OK.

Yes it is on a Kolibri AK-3
I've seen it listed in a propeller manufacturers site in the last 12 months but at the time I didn't need the information; now I can't find the manufacturers site again.
It could be a PowerFin prop, they make one very similar; I'll send them an email and check.

Sorry about that, I hadn't come across it on the site.

Design and build an 'Ultralight'
in AUS/NZ General Discussion

The HM-1000 (which is a Flying Flea design) in the above photos has a Rotax 582 engine.
Now watch the video and see how well it performs.
