  1. I'm after a set of NESMITH COUGAR plans if anyone has a set they would like to sell.

Or where they can be bought from; apparently "Acro Sport Inc" in the US used to sell them but I have been told they are no longer trading.

    Any information would be appreciated.

  2. Hi M61A1,

The psru from Aerotech was made to adapt to any auto engine up to 200hp

I contacted a friend in the Czech Republic and he said Aerotech was bought out by another company and don't make PSRU's any more.

What HP engines did the PSRU you have come off, I'm after a belt drive that will take 85HP, 2.2:1 to 2.5:1 ratio.

If what you have are suitable for my engine, I would like to buy both of them off you if you want to sell them.

Send me a PM and let me know.

  3. I have always wanted to see twin engines with inline push/pull configuration approved for RAAus aircraft, purely for safety.

If you were building say, an aircraft requiring a single engine and if the design allowed; you could use 2 x engines of suitable power as an alternative arrangement

so long as the MTOW for its category was not exceeded.

    Aircraft like this;

  4. So why didn't Rod do all this 20 years ago?

    20 years of stubborn arrogance.

Don't get me wrong Rod is a very nice person, but if the world is telling you there's a problem then you fix it; you don't blame others for a problem you have created.

  5. I heard recently that Jabiru is considering moving it's manufacturing to China and if it does, don't expect any cost reductions to flow on to the end user.

If it does move to China, the manufacturing will never ever return to Aus, once they have it in their country they will take it over and once they have acquired all the knowledge they will pull the pin on Rod and send him back to Aus with nothing.

Like a lot of companies who think the grass is greener in China, they eventually realise their mistake when it's too late and their flying home empty handed after the Chinese have taken all their technology for themselves.

I know of many, many businesses that this has happened to, that operated in Aus very successfully but wanted to retain a bigger slice of their pie, but ended up with nothing.

China wants to control all types of manufacturing throughout the world and we are supplying them with the technology and know-how to do it.

  6. For those wishing to go down the owner builder path, there are excellent steel kit homes that you will save a lot of money on your investment.

We will also include a list of these companies and some designs to give some more ideas to ponder.

  7. I've been talking to some of the local builders around the Fraser Coast and a House/Land/Hangar package would start around $360,000 depending on the choice of block but would average $450,000 for a very good size modern home and spacious block.

So for any keen aviators looking for the Airpark lifestyle; it will be very affordable, especially if your looking to get out of the city rat race to a very pleasant country/coastal outlook.

Details of builders and what they offer will be available here and the website in the next couple of weeks..

  8. Yes, dealing with council was an experience but the state government worse, they had people building brick walls before we could put the application to them.

Aquila Airpark is totally Green, all homes are Off-grid Solar, 32.5 Kw/hr per day Solar storage which is supplied by the developer to all land purchasers. (Installation is the responsibility of the land buyer)

Internet and Phone will be through the NBN Wireless Network.

Rain water tanks will be the land buyers responsibility. (normal practise for semi rural estates)

Sewage treatment system will be the land buyers responsibility. (normal practise for semi rural estates)

Garbage collection will be carried out by FCRC as a standard service.

All street lighting and common area lighting is Solar.
