  1. Not me, but I'm hoping that even though the 503 has been in storage for some time it will still be ok - my experience of 503's has generally been very good - once you get the carb settings right! Judging by the amount of pull needed the compressions are fine.

    . cdi or points?

  2. Thanks Peter, many manufacturers won't go near the net for good reason, but I don't mind.I have been madly working about 18 hours a day over the last week, i ain't kidding either, it's now 6am here and I'm about to go to bed for a few hours and go to the factory at 10.

I have made big changes, not to the overall concept, but to the module'isation and simplification of the frame and will be screwing it together this week. Example before every vertical and angle frame brace was an individual requiring not only the individual length to be cut, but also and individual angle cut at each end, now there is 18 identical vertical braces with 90 degree cuts and 9 with one end 90 cut and the same angle on the other end, albeit individual lengths.

This will make simpler, faster and more accurate frame building.

    Anyway, sleep time.

Hope you found time fir an awesome Xmas Bex? Have a great new year mate

  3. Motorkite dreaming episode III - wish it was a dream bad_mood.gif.04f799b8c2da677a1c244b54433f2aa7.gifUnfortunately it was all there to be seen.

    1. low flying ALL the time by one 'pilot', including buzzing at various time both their support ground crew AND a group of kids

    2. They decide to put down for a rest - and one lands into dead standing scrubby trees ... at least three large chunks taken out of one of the composite prop blades (couldn't see the other two) BUT after consoling each other he just flys out ... there was a perfectly serviceable two seater there to fly out in to get parts etc but NO

    3. The low flying one decides to outland again and this time the nose wheel hits loose sand in the ground run, flicks full right and the trike and wing tip over to the left ... wing does strike ground and he just puts it back upright and without even dropping the wing to check the spars on that side he just takes off

    4. nice cliff hanger ending with an engine out outlanding (apparently due to running out of fuel) and they stop as he hits HARD ...

One thing for sure - these airframes should be put on a warning list - do not buy these from anyone

Second would be the view of the RAAus ops and safety and exactly how they nice shiny new members charter and documents apply to conterol/dicipline these two 'Pilots'

    Spoiler alert!!! Lol

His girl friend in the back hits her kneck on a wire in the engine out fuel starve scene..I have it on DVD. Was disappointed in it. What you see on TV is actually more than what was sold publicly on DVD only 2 months ago.

  4. Good stuff Tim, well done mate! The video made me feel a bit pi**ed off because I so wanted to buy your T83.Kind Rgds.

    Planey.

I have 2 bunyips/jackaroos.-(Black Betty) -IMO just as good as the ol thruster (I dare say better). When I finish with them (filming) at least 1 will be sold for a fare price (3-4K). - also the Bush Tracker (tiny 2seat dual control) will go as soon as the 40 hrs are knocked off as it's just a time killer between something else (was going to use it for filming with floats but proving $$$$ outa reach).. what's a bummer is the fact the most expensive part( quotes only at this stage) is W&b. Cost. $1200 fir casa approved. And only $400 for final inspection! But anyway gotta be done .

  5. ok so some years ago on here ( some may recall as they defended me) I had a member post on a thread of mine - the members post was an envious attack on how a pensioner( at the time) could afford his own aeroplane. Before I had chance to reply, other members jumped to my defence:). I also posted as positively as I could a reply.. that member after receiving some retaliation posts from members in my defence was never to be seen on here again! So fast forward 4 years and I meet a group of awesome accepting pilots. And instantly bonded with the admin of the group, we got on extreamly well and happy to call them a friend. Then one night months later I received a live chat message with them -yes you guessed it, they confessed to being the forum member. Appoligy was easily excepted and yes we are still friends :) face to face interaction proving that a few on here aren't what there posts precieve.

Also ide like to mention that I have just realised that 98% of my flying friends were all met on this very forum!!!!! I met" P.A" face to face yesterday when he dropped in on his way past. Great bloke;). I've been lucky enough to meet so many on here. To name a few : Bex(wt? Your not chinise?)my Besty-The Barron,Doug Evens,Pud(past away) nieuport Pete, my one and only wing man Patrick Normoyle, ,Deskpilot, Admittent(past away),Tony Tiffan, sajabflyer,Ian Wells,Helmut,P.A,Major(past away)and many more awesome peeps- the one thing in common with all is they really are great friendly people.

So don't always judge a book by the writings ,as the cover may be completely different for the good.... happy days

  6. Ive been ramp checked, was my very first flyin. it was quick and basically checked my details and paper work. My only gripe was that it was " random" so only a couple of us got checked

On the subject of flight display I'm not sure the requirements at a " flyin" but at an airshow you have to submit strict details of your flight performance to CASA for approval. That means your hight, speeds, how many circuits, every manoeuvre etc.. has already been approved before take off. I say before take off as the last show I did ( Jamestown over 8000 spectators) my approved display had to be changed on the day of show due to so many aircraft on display requiring holding patterns , my nieupy flies to slow to hold so I requested a full display , also as they wanted me flying in circuit with the tiger moths I had to request my circuit be reduced to 500ft and in the small circuit area whilst the tigers flew at 800 ft in the wide circuit. CASA approved this on the spot no dramas.

  7. My Flight this morning at Clifton was in winds gusting to 22 knots, luckly nearly straight down runway 24. It was smoother than I expected but there were a few bumps on short final. I actually enjoyed the touch and goes with a low ground speed. Ground rolls were all only about 3 times the Drifters length and takeoffs seemed even shorter. I actually did each 'touch n go' to a full stop on the runway (to see how short I could go..) then commenced the takeoff again. None of the landings rolled past the first 100m runway markers.Wayne.

  8. Just watched a few videos and read a heap of how to.. Looks. Simple enough , just little craftsmanship And patience.

. I should note on the bolly Site I see BROLGA props back being made !!!!! Around $800 I think it was. I'm a fan of the good ol brolga. Good on ya Bolly :)

  9. Unfortunately the propmaker you are referring to, Brent Thompson, has motor neurone disease and was forced to sell the business a couple of years ago. It has since changed hands again - not sure of the present operator. Brent made the best wooden prop in the world - and thats no idle boast - everyone who got one of his props found that it performed better than whatever it replaced.

Yes it became omega ( big let down ) then 12 months or so sgo changed hands again called aero something
