  1. Have to say theses days in Australia there's not much option for buying propellers.

So who manufactures propellers here in oz?

Bolly -being expensive for small U/L projects.

    Jabiru -same as above .

So where to go? Re-wind to 2014 and there was at least 2 wooden prop manufactures: Sweet apple - great prop reasonable price

arktech - good prop great price

    But sadly both gone :(

Looks like a great opportunity for a woods smith to ad some competition? Or is demand just not there?

    Anyway I'm needing x2 props. ;)

    57 x 38 for rotax 503 258.1 pusher

    60 x ? For rotax 582 258.1 tractor

  2. I must have said something, first cool change in 2 weeks of miserable heat happening right now!21C right now (11.30pm) with a breeze (rare here) but going back up overnight, however, says it's going down steadily over the next week to the mid-high 20's. Hopefully I can get back to full speed now, I had to knock it on the head at 3pm today for example because of the heat, and I wasn't exactly going real fast up til then either.

-0.2.here. And "feels like temp" -3.5 Lol. Brrrrrrrr. I'll trade ya for ya heat?

  3. If we are just talking about being trapped in a low wing bubble canopy the simple way ( not pretty) would be to have a bi-fold canopy, that has a hinged seem, in centre front to back so both sides lift up ( like a lamboguini ), this was done on my supercat so if upside down the canopy still opens either side enough to crawl out... However I have no concerns flying all low wing bubble canopy in which the post refers to ( fighter planes for eg ). I feel personally if I'm conscious after a flip over , my survival, and will to live will give me everything I need to punch thru the canopy !!!!! Now that's if the canopy is still intact!!!! Having a friend up the rd ( posted on this forum about his flip over with his wife) who has flipped in a rough tall Canola paddock at lowish speed with bubble canopy, there's a good chance the canopy won't remain intact or at the very least seated..... I know a few that fly with tools such as -A tack Hammer , large screw driver , small pry bar , ect... Truth and bottom line is if you don't feel safe don't fly it.. Considering how many bubble low wingers are around happily gracing the skies (as they have done for the last 100 years) Im sure if it were a real safety problem CASA or RAA would have banned them or have you sign a waiver....

So today I wrote, played recorded and produced this WUFI anthem.

As an Australian WUFI capt. I was honoured and hope I did it justice

  6. Is Tony Kerr still around ? If anyone would like any info about controllability and the incident itself please feel free to ask , I was flying the CA25n at Maroochy in 2000 (I think) that had the aileron detach . Not sure my poor student would have taken up flying as a career ;(

Any pics of the fail points?

  7. Huge success..... Was overwhelming with 19 arrivals and around 40 people.,.

Runway was so compact there a black skid marks everywhere!!!

Had everything from a tiger to a trike..

And NO one used the 450 meters!! Infact all were stopped within 300 meters and were able to turn off the taxi parking are .. Didn't exspect that.

WX was perfect how ever as murphy is never far away when you fly a vintage bi-plane war bird, a rogue gust challenged Barry in his tiger to a dual whilst slow taxing but thankfully Barry won.. Thank you so much everyone it was an awesome day. Oh and I scored a ride in a trike with the SA board Rep

  8. Hot nurse?Got a shocking headache, can't sleep, not sure if it's the injury or the drugs they gave me - or both.

That's my excuse, what the hell are you doing awake at 4am?

WX. Recorded 41 kt. Gust and sleet falling. Nasty out there :( And no female nurse :(. Male doc ... Embarrassing. Specially hobbling in with an old greasy sheet wrapped around my lower half lol. Truth... I never sleep ;)

  9. I tried to hack my thumb off today with a rabid 4" grinder and thin cutting blade, so there may be no updates for a couple of days.

Hmmm. 10 years ago I was using a 9" grinder with wire wheel to strip down farm machinary for respraying . On the particular day I was wearing track pants and going comando.. I was grinding the draw bar and like an ijet, I pushed my thigh in to grinder for more penetration... Not good !!! In an instant my track pants ripped off me like a chip and dale stripper and grinder ended up in my groin with a ball of ripped track pants.. Pulled grinder away to find my goodies un unrecognisable !!!!!! Went I to shock lol. Boss man raced me to hospital and boy was I relieved when they cleaned me up to find a 6" x 1.5" by 4 mil deep gash in my groin/ inner thigh stopping just before my good bits.. The wire brush had spread bits of flesh and what not all over my goodies making them look .. Well not so good... So no damage down there .PHEW..- Now a huge scar looks like burn scar.. Lesson learned. No loose cloths around wire wheels. Jeans or overies...(overalls;) lol

  10. I use cyberlink power director.( no.1 for years) And magix. Cyber link for most and magix fir some minor stuff that cyberlink doesn't do( go pro precise zooming) You can get them on trial at no cost to see how you like them.... Unfortunately you will ultimately have to fork out a little coinage, but well worth it.. Also comes down to your PC.. Better graphics etc.. Will make things a lot easier.. And in the editing world. A little is a lot, when coming to touch ups etc.. Have fun. Hope it helps

They are both money back guarantee. And I have done this!!!! My $100+ reg fee was refunded on cyberlink when it wouldn't run on my old laptop... New laptop 2 years later has no issues. Love it...

  13. I was going to post a pic of my build project. But I'm worried someone will have dig at the sticky tape and super glue... But that's how it says to do it? See the instructions come from china and quote " stick gusset longaron - riveting". , so I stuck it with glue and sticky tape and to tell you the truth it wasn't that riveting? Was boring actually .
