    OK.

does the single breaker feeding any  of those  those  exceed the wire rating  ?

EXAMPLE 40A breaker, for 4 x 10A devices. In the even of a short say, due to a crush on the wires to one of those devices , the wiring MUST be able to withstand the current required to comfortably trip the breaker (without producing a fire, melting other wires, fuel hose etc)
This usually leads to a requirement for hefty wire everywhere, which is why items may be further divided up with small breakers.

This is defined SOMEWHERE.  anyone know? If you look up the harness rating for wiring, that will give you the answer...
"Table 1-I-1 Current Rating Of Wires In Amps (SAE AS 50881)" in AC21-99 is a place to start.

using Tefzel wire sizing for each component mostly 20 22 g 1 overload switch is for battery isolator ,this feeds the on off switch to the bus  ,using 1x40 amp 3x10 amp,4x5 amp overload switches i can change these if required,my dash hinges back so i can access all electrical components, also access hatch 300x200 behind the fire wall

  2. Flying into Kooralbyn one morning for coffee and just about to flare and this thing turned around it was a young bloke, his clothes merged into the  runway(bitumen) gave me a fright ,powered up and did a go round when i finally landed and taxied to parking he was just about near us so asked why was he walking on a active runway he said, its a shortcut, ,50 metres closer he would have been minus a head Darwins award to him

  3. I have used this forum for the last 8 years and there is a wealth of experienced people that give out good info, but i have seen a lot of the old names disappear and not much is being posted about building which is the area i am most interested in,however i do log on daily to see what is happening around Aus by rec pilots, Rec flying is what we do so i say leave it at that, but its your choice Ian

Is that such a bad thing? Any chemical detector should be sensitive to the its designed chemical. If it is, great. But if it also detects other chemicals that we don't really want, then that's a plus. Imagine if your CO detector also happened to react to CO2That is a dangerous gas in a confined space, and is a gas likely to be encountered in the cockpit.

Also, we can only use up to 21% of the volume of air we breathe in. That's all the oxygen that is usually in it. If we go putting other gases in, even vapours like water and fuel vapours, we are reducing the amount of oxygen we can take in with every breath. I suppose that our body's protection system has developed so that if we can smell something, there's too much of it in the air. Try going near a teenage boy who has a can of Lynx.

or using no lynx at all, is it me but i detect that most young people teens are rather smelly body odour ,yuk

  5. I owned a Roko which is a copy of the Bristell(same designer/engineer) and except for an initial cg problem which they came out from Czech to fix i had no problems flying long distance, to slow and in stall would drop a wing, normal training stall were ok point nose down and keep flying, but as was pointed out to me by CFI who gave me instruction on type(i didnt want to bend a new plane) "to slow oh no" got very mushy and hard to control, but happilly flew over the fence 55knots ,i don,t know if the controls are different in the Bristell but i was happy in flying the Roko.

  6. I have a EJ 25 subaru and have it stripped to crankcase to rebuild, the crank is very strong,i will be putting new journals and rings and getting new cams put in about $800 in parts , the psru is from Chris Hintz in NZ once rebuilt will then build the engine mount some guys in US are getting very good results from thier subies, if i get to 1000 hrs it will probably be when i am too old to fly anyway, subarus are easy to work on once you get rid of the crap on them,i will use SDI ecu also have spoken to guys on how to set up cooling this seems to be the biggest challenge , i do like to work on stuff
