I have 8 carling rocker switches with power coming through 8 thermal overload contacts, all switches require led grounding plus grounding for load, can i loop all switches with grounding for led and load or should i go for individual grounding to terminal ground block
Cheers Gareth

To the avionics guru,s out there ,i have 8 panel switches powering from 8 thermal overload switches, can you loop ground to all switches and have 1 main ground to ground block or individual grounds to block
Thanks gareth

Flying into Kooralbyn one morning for coffee and just about to flare and this thing turned around it was a young bloke, his clothes merged into the runway(bitumen) gave me a fright ,powered up and did a go round when i finally landed and taxied to parking he was just about near us so asked why was he walking on a active runway he said, its a shortcut, ,50 metres closer he would have been minus a head Darwins award to him

I have used this forum for the last 8 years and there is a wealth of experienced people that give out good info, but i have seen a lot of the old names disappear and not much is being posted about building which is the area i am most interested in,however i do log on daily to see what is happening around Aus by rec pilots, Rec flying is what we do so i say leave it at that, but its your choice Ian

1 hour ago, old man emu said:
Is that such a bad thing? Any chemical detector should be sensitive to the its designed chemical. If it is, great. But if it also detects other chemicals that we don't really want, then that's a plus. Imagine if your CO detector also happened to react to CO2. That is a dangerous gas in a confined space, and is a gas likely to be encountered in the cockpit.
Also, we can only use up to 21% of the volume of air we breathe in. That's all the oxygen that is usually in it. If we go putting other gases in, even vapours like water and fuel vapours, we are reducing the amount of oxygen we can take in with every breath. I suppose that our body's protection system has developed so that if we can smell something, there's too much of it in the air. Try going near a teenage boy who has a can of Lynx.
or using no lynx at all, is it me but i detect that most young people teens are rather smelly body odour ,yuk

I owned a Roko which is a copy of the Bristell(same designer/engineer) and except for an initial cg problem which they came out from Czech to fix i had no problems flying long distance, to slow and in stall would drop a wing, normal training stall were ok point nose down and keep flying, but as was pointed out to me by CFI who gave me instruction on type(i didnt want to bend a new plane) "to slow oh no" got very mushy and hard to control, but happilly flew over the fence 55knots ,i don,t know if the controls are different in the Bristell but i was happy in flying the Roko.

I am looking to get 160 hp, this is achievable with the gearing and ecu, at 5800 max revs ,but will be trial and prop differences when i get to that stage,i am building a wide (1200) cabin for xcountry flying in comfort for my old body(lol) so will have a bit of drag there

I have a EJ 25 subaru and have it stripped to crankcase to rebuild, the crank is very strong,i will be putting new journals and rings and getting new cams put in about $800 in parts , the psru is from Chris Hintz in NZ once rebuilt will then build the engine mount some guys in US are getting very good results from thier subies, if i get to 1000 hrs it will probably be when i am too old to fly anyway, subarus are easy to work on once you get rid of the crap on them,i will use SDI ecu also have spoken to guys on how to set up cooling this seems to be the biggest challenge , i do like to work on stuff

using Tefzel wire sizing for each component mostly 20 22 g 1 overload switch is for battery isolator ,this feeds the on off switch to the bus ,using 1x40 amp 3x10 amp,4x5 amp overload switches i can change these if required,my dash hinges back so i can access all electrical components, also access hatch 300x200 behind the fire wall
