  1. GForce, Well call me very biased, but yes I think LWs fly great, and handle very well on the ground, particularly right after touchdown. They don't really don't want to do much but go straight. I don' t recall ever having to put in a boot full of rudder to kick one straight, unlike that needed sometimes in say a Skyfox or even a Thruster.Pat McGrath CFI trained for years up this way in Lightwings for years, and turned out many good pilots a lot of whom are still around flying today. The key really to landing any taildragger successfully is to touch down at the correct speed.

Yenn, Yes I believe it was Noel Patrick that sold her at Old Station 15 years ago. And yes she was back at Old Station this year in her new white/orange strip paint job , parked down the bottom with seven other aircraft from the North......I'm sure with any luck she'll be there again next year........Maj...024_cool.gif.7a88a3168ebd868f5549631161e2b369.gif

Great stuff - Having just bought a new Highlander a few month ago I need to go both finish my RAA ticket and get some tail drag`n time so have booked the airtime in a lightwing. When the RAA reinstate its rego that is !

  2. The Cri Cri has always been a must have/really want homebuild for me but alas, at 95 Kgs, and 6.4 I will never fit. The maximum pilot weight in the POH is 72 Kgs anyway... So, I`m doing the next best thing. Building a LARGE RC version of it. There is 2 electric 1:1 scale Cri Cri so I will be building mine as a scaled down 38% Model.

Here is a video of the full size Electric Cri Cri

Mine will be powered by electric brushless out runners on 12 cell Lipos ! Here is a picture of my wife holding the canopy of my RC version. Yep.. its BIG ( for a small plane )

  3. What is the issue GeForce?

I needed to go do some hours in the clostest aircraft I could find to my Highlander and a lightwing 912 is about the closest. There is one at the Oaks at Sydney flying school but RAA have pulled his rego due to all the issues... So.. I cant complete my RAA and the hightlander is in Vic and I need to get it up here but have found a work around.. My wife is just weeks away from giving birth to our first child ( a little co pilot baby boy ) and I dont want to leave her so... Just annoying timing but it may work in my favor as our Hanger is almost complete so all good ! Think I might of taken on 3 major projects at once lol...

  4. Wouldn't even dream about it until the whole sorry mess surrounding LSA's in particular, and rego renewals in general has been resolved. There are by now a number of members who must be wondering if they have a very expensive ornament rather than a fly able aircraft. It's time the Executive came clean on what is happening, why it is happening and who is likely to be affected.

Unfortunately - Im caught up in that sorry mess. ! Only owned my own aircraft for a month lol.. Oh well.. it will sort itself out.
