Hi RC,
There is mountains of experience and knowledge in this forum and I am sure the answers are around the corner. I know what I've heard people say over the years as I have mentioned above but just can't find it in writing, it will be there somewhere and someone will pipe up and point it out.
Suggest you intro yourself in "Just Landed" state your experience and ambitions.

The Ops Manual 2.15 - 16 states that the CFI can train in an Aircraft which complies with CAO 95.32 or 95.55, this includes all RAA approved Aircraft. My understanding is that the Plane needed to be factory built or you can be taught in your own approved kit built which YOU assembled 51%+.

Ian made comment in this thread page 6 http://www.recreationalflying.com/threads/recreational-flying-gps.27195/page-6 that another company would take over the digital maps from October. I'm sure he will shed light on the situation shortly

Fact or Funny ?...................Both

Hi damoski,
I use the Bad Elf GPS (see earlier post), plugs into base of iPad and uses it's power, and I use the iPhone hotspot for data access. I have downloaded all necessary maps to the iPad and full ERSA so very little 3G required. One charger in the bag does both iPad and iPhone.

Show called whispering death on History channel 9.30pm Friday 21/10/11.
"They joined the RAAF in their thousands and faced the rapidly advancing onslaught of the highly trained and battle hardened Japanese Imperial Forces at the northern gates to Austrilia. This is their story"

Dont worry fella's, just got off the phone with Geoff at Emerald Free Flying Caloundra 54996333. They are still at Caloundra and have 3 Texans for your pleasure.
-
Geoff they are professional, I was surprised you can't get onto Free Emerald, I rang them this morning, they have been at Mt Isa for a few days but back now and replying to your email.GDL saidI will give GoFly a call (actually email) and see what they have to say. Mike, I will take up your suggestion and see if I can get them down to Caloundra. I presume that if I pay that they go where the business is. What did you think of their training? -
Hi Geoff,
I'm sure that Damien at GoFly could always fly to Caloundra and pick you up, both airfields use the same training area as are 18nm apart. Give him a call, I did my 3 Axis with Zane and Navs with Damien and happy to recommend.

My Dad served after the bombing of Darwin at Adelaide River south of Darwin, records state that 250,000 troops were sent there in case of what might happen. About 5 years ago I visited the area to 'have a look' but nothing realy left except the ox out of Crocodile Dundee stuffed in the '303 Bar" at the local Pub. A local pointed me to a site not far away called Snake Gully, I found it and it looked liked the allies drove out 60 years ago, old boom gate and the site was used for storing explosives. There was a railway network and about 15 storage bunkers buried in the side of the hills. Large buildings since dissapeared courtesy of the termites but with large blast walls still evident. Back down in this part of the world we still have remenants of "Fort Bribie", Fort Rous and Cowan Cowan on Moreton Island. That Ozatwar site is full of plenty of this sort of stuff. For example a northern suburb of Brisbane "Strathpine" was home to 3 airfields and a large Training base for Spitfires with unfortunate records of mid air collisions etc. Now Suburban the Taxiways are named Beaufort, Blenheim etc and the Runway is Spitfire Ave.

What a difference a day makes. was on Volunteer Duty public parking on Saturday, surprisingly about a hundred vehicles but showers drizzle on and off and about a 300' ceiling. Not a single aircraft in or out.
Went back at 2pm today, planes people everywhere, joy flights taking off and landing every few minutes in Nanchang, Jab's, Trojan, Antonov, Gazelle,Technams, Powered Gliders, De-Haviland Dragon - a feast for the public, even saw a pitts do some aero work. I'm sure the organisers breathed a sigh of relief.

Yeah without the adds and going back over the same ground, over and over, waiting for the last couple was like pulling teeth. Having said that some pretty interesting strips there, no problems for a Savannah even at high altitude.jerrajerra said -Would it be the same clips that few have uploaded on youtube with same title? If not, the youtube stuff is excellent as well.

Thanks Ahlocks, some clarification would be good, as far as I can see the only difference between 95.55 and 95.32 is the types of Aircraft they cover. The wording in each section appears to be the same except type.
