  1. Some beliefs may sound or appear stupid when in actual fact they hold water. The human being has a spiritual aspect folks.I know what i am talking about but wont drag anyone into accepting it.
  2. Yes spiritual Guidance is what is needed here. The spiritual people will point to the right direction then science will be used to locate. The more we rely on our machines alone the longer and wrong places we go.Just my thinking.
  3. Guys have you seen this one.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2586013/Malaysian-woman-claims-seen-missing-MH370-water-near-Andaman-Islands-day-disappeared.html Do you think spiritual guidance is now needed.I think if we combine science and spiritual guidance we might have something soon.
  4. RAAus is here to stay. It`s cheaper to fly Ra-aus than the VH registered aircraft. If it costs $300/hr to fly a VH aircraft and $130/hr to fly a Jabiru 170D then I would stick to the Jab because I get more hours with $300.The excitement of wanting to fly heavier aircraft will make young people like me go for the RPL but the costs of doing so will send us back to Ra-aus.In the end Ra-aus is here to stay.
  5. Forgive me folks,I think there might be something else. Its true we dont turn with rudder but ailerons and co ordinate with rudder maintaining balance.Where I feel there might be some ambiguity on the Title of this thread is at what height do we use rudder to track straight or keep aligned with the runway centre line.I think rudder may be used to make small corrections of keeping the nose aligned with the runway centre line below 50 feet.I initially interpreted the thread title to mean using rudder to align with the centre line just before and after rounding out through to touchdown keeping wings level.Cross wind operations would be something different though I think there is no continuous yaw involved.A yaw that is continuous is the one that accelerates one wing.
  6. Years ago I was in South Africa and orbiting the circuit is something that we regularly practiced. The Airport we were using was a controlled one with ATC.What would happen is if you had to go around when someone was still on the runway you would get"Bravo Golf Tango Orbit to your right maintaining sight with the aircraft taking off. Please keep your circuit tight." We would then fly an ellipse tight circuit to the right for a normal left-hand circuit and vice versa.Instead of flying the normal circuit height ,we would fly lower by 200 feet. This required one to be very precise. This was quite challenging because one had to start descent early just before turning base.In an Orbit we were like circling from upwind to downwind and downwind to final. The crosswind and base legs were arcs so to speak. I am not sure of the Australian System though as I have never done it or witnessed anyone do it.
  7. I thank RA-Aus as well.I could not afford GA rates.Lets hope RA- Aus will survive whatever storm it might be in.This RPL is an interesting thing.Maybe an advantage to those seeking heavier machines.I think it might have been a way to resuscitate GA by attracting RA-Aus pilots to seek flying heavier machines especially those who can meet the right Medicals. If a thousand RA-Aus pilots go the RPL route then GA is on it`s way up again.
  8. Maybe just as a suggestion Flying Clubs close to Military Airfields , Airports or Airspace should have someone to act as an Airspace Officer who can on regular basis contact the Air force to find out if they will be doing anything outside the norm.I dont know if this is practical or not but I think if the Air force is willing to co-operate then its should work out fine.If they dont want to then it needs another approach.
  9. Welcome to the Jab world. They are interesting planes. All the best.
  10. I find the Thread interesting.Being one of the people who have ended up requesting a Thread to be withdrawn,I have had time to think before over excitadley posting anything. What happens is when we are writing up Posts we are thinking and writing at the same time.Unfortunately we think faster than we can write and as a result we end up omitting certain words, phrases, letters which lead to a totally different meaning to what we would have intended to put across. In the end the whole Post might be deemed dangerous or ambiguous .One other thing is depending on the books we have read, some information might be out dated or corrections have been made without our knowledge. Also depending on the origin of information.I was watching one of the Air Crash Investigations series back in 2005.An American Airline plane had an engine failure on climbing. The pilots using the Flight Manuals had to reduce power of the remaining engine and as a result airspeed decreased to a point of stall. They even didn`t balance rudder because it wasn`t stated in the manual. The plane ended up stalling and yawing and I guess you know what happened next. Maybe when people seem to jump at someone they are of opinion that one really needs to look into what he has put up.As long as its done with intentions to make one revisit his/her post I think its okay.It only becomes a problem when one is doing a show off thing.
  11. Compulsion has said it very well.I feel it`s very important to learn the basics and have the skills. We can then use the electronic gadgets to see how we are progressing with our flights and if they fail,we quickly open our bags for our tools.
  12. I am sorry for my over excitement to post what I have heard especially when its something that shouldnt be even discussed at our level.I wanted to withdraw the post but I cant.I accept my blunder.
  13. The advice given in this post has been retracted by the author. Moderator.
  14. Good to hear that.I know Murray Bridge is used by my club for Cross Country Navigation.I will be landing there very soon.
  15. Hello there, I am Tafi.I have just made a smooth Landing here.I am in S.A.I fly at Gawler in the J170C and D.I am trying very hard to learn so that I can be a safe pilot one day.I have been finding some Topics which are discussed here very helpful and have decided to join in so that I can be PROUD TO BELONG to such a wonderful Forum. Regards
