  1. I've flown with Tiger many times, and have never had a problem. You need to take in to account what your paying for, and what that gets you. You could take a bus to Sydney with Greyhound and it would cost you more than using one of the cheaper bus lines say Firefly for a third of the cost, they both get you to Sydney in the same amount of time, same here Tiger is what it is a Budget airline. You get what you pay for, to get you around cheaper. And with what I've seen of full flights the Australian people DO like to fly with Tiger, when the oppostion go out half full - and no I don't work for Tiger or an airline. Have you thought of taking a bus next time, as you seem to have a problem with Qantas as well from another thread the same complaint.
  2. Any body know why Qantas have removed the logos off VH-TJM ? the kanga's gone from the tail and the Qantas name on the fuselage, are they about to part with it ? - it's the 737- 400 "Kestrel".
  3. Over night visitor at MEL : Koninklijke Luchtmact : Royal Netherlands Air Force T-255, DC 10 30CF. Sat down the southern end of Sierra all day Friday 17/06 - still there this evening.
  4. Well Done Darren. I'm always putting people right when they complain about the safety issues that the media highlight from your mob and their Qantas cousins, in regard of my observations airside. Now the staff is another issue - , but the plane ops, there are other companies who are worse, I haven't seen a wheel roll off a taxing JQ/QA yet, and the last two full emergency standby's haven't involved them either, but it's not reported by the media as it's not Qantas.
  5. Watched the program, and couldn't believe my ears and eye's, watched it again this afternoon to catch things I missed. And yeh those whistle blowers were totally believable. I remember thinking to myself when I first saw the news report of the one that had the problem at Amersterdam, why has it broken in 3 pieces - their not suppose to do that. And then to see the same in Kingston + Columbia, Wow. Yes also concerned. I'm wondering if the dateline report has been shown in the US by another program, and if there is a as been any concern. So were to sit next time I'm on a 737 NG ???? maybe on the A320 next door.
  6. Half painted in Solomon colours, new rego H4-BUS.
  7. VH - XFA is called Cottesloe Beach... I see a beach theme starting, and Yes it will be sad to see the clever names go.
  8. N957PG was at JHA MEL sheds on the 12th May, a cleanskin A320-211, registered to Pegasus Aviation in '07, and then retired and put in storage '09. I think it maybe now in the shed being painted for Strategic's Solomon Airlines arm, it is listed as 'Due' to be delivered to them soon. - apologises for the lateness in posting, it's been a long work week.
  9. found a new Tiger at MEL, wondering where it came in from or how long it's been around ? VH-FJR : has Jack Ryan under the cockpit in orange and green ( Irish).
  10. I was up close with VH-XFB today while it hid in MEL and agree that the new design looks good, it's been named "Cable Beach". Nice photo's Chainy. And yes I agree as well about the "brand" being all the same is a good thing.
  11. Hi Guys, Did anyone catch the US marines Herc that went into MEL late Tuesday (today) arvo on a radar or ? It's flight call was : Sumo ___. 926 was on it's front, and I thought it read QD 7926 on the tail, but I can't find it on any websites. It did read Marines on the fuselage, above the wheels.
  12. Looking forward to the the time when your back with us as normal, I'm POSITIVE I won't be waiting long. Keep doing this please - > , and this .

  14. Hi Uncle, Southern Air come in every now and again, they had the contract from Malaysian to fly cargo for them, ending at the end of last year, but it's been extended me thinks. They are based in Norwalk, CT, USA and have a fleet of 17. - I've only seen 4 come in to us - N758SA, N761SA, N765SA + N783SA.
  15. Oops I put this in the wrong section on the 30/3/11, it got moved - thank you who ever did that, but it went into the video section, so I've repeated it over in this section ....sorry  Royal Brunei finally lands in MEL, V8-BLE B777-200ER first flight in today, in at 7.45 am out at 13.45. It's suppose to be in 4 times a week. - nice colour scheme. Shanghai Airlines came in as well under the China Eastern Umbrella, B-2500, B767-300.
  16. Yes standards have dropped, and I think its to cut costs, and thanks to that I will continue to get lots of work at MEL, as they continue to go for the cheap builders who under cut everyone else, ie; John Holland, thats why we have a 4w4 track called Victor taxiway at MEL. Thankfully Air Services didn't choose John Holland to build the new tower.
  17. We had 3 KC-135's at MEL - Utah, Sioux City & Mac Dill. Mac Dill is still with us. The USAF GA 550 (10065) was with us. We also had the guys from Dassualt Falcon come in, in their corporate jet - N748FJ. Virgin keep dragging the A330 up to the freight apron playing with it then dragging it back down to the JHA shed. The new Embrear was with us over the weekend as well, in front of the VB sheds. We did also have the Malaysian PM's nice A319 (9M-NAA) in last Friday.
  18. Affirm. It sat on the freight area (Golf 4) most of the day, then towed down to JHA sheds. unfortunately it wasn't the star attraction of the day, we had a overnight visitor that stayed till late arvo, a B1.
  19. Hi, Noticed VH-VUF has had the 'Pacific Blue' name removed from it's fuselage, it is still on the tail. At the front of the fuselage under the windows, in front of the wings, it now says "A Airline of Virgin Blue. " -in white Will this be written on the V Oz jets soon ?
  20. Thanks very much Dave for sharing this.
  21. Welcome, I haven't seen any Russian military wander in to MEL -yet, but I will keep a eye out for you, though we did have an Antonov AN124-100 : RA-82078, come in yesterday afternoon. We are had A32-349 RAAF - Beech King Air 350 in a couple of times.
