No worries LM... nice thread and I have been wanting to discuss different equipment in this regard. Not a fan of the hexamine stoves either, terrible in wind and I always seem to infuse my food with hexamine taste...

Over the last few months I have slowly been adding to my collection of lighter weight camping gear with a view to doing a few camping trips. The light weight good quality stuff is bloody expensive... so have been adding to it all slowly.
Here is my Tent, inflatable mattress, Sleeping bag, Rain tarp and tripod stool.
Total weight is 6.2kg for this kit... of course a few items are missing: pillow etc.
Tent is 2.5kg (just under actually) and includes poles, stakes, ropes and even a floor saver which is not really needed. It is not a very big tent and you can just sit up straight in it, just long enough for those around 6'2" and plenty wide for one person... 2 if you are desperate. It is an Alps Mountaineering Mystique 2... I actually have two of them if anyone wants the second one (Brand new unused) I will sell it... $160 posted.
Sleeping Mat is 1.1kg; an Exped SynMat UL 7, expensive but very warm (insulated) unlike many sleeping mats, has a built in hand pump
Sleeping bag (1.1kg) is a Mountain Designs 'Kashagr 150' on special ATM for a reasonable price. I like this one because you can open it right out and use as blanket/doonah and with my sleeping mat that is the way to go...
Rain tarp/fly is just there for a shade cover while outside or to cover the pod, it is .7kg and is an ENO Profly
I still want to get a small cooker stove and am contemplating the Kovea Booster+1

I can't see what you mean. Pitch of the blades individually or angle of the disc?Have another look at the video and pay particular attention to the main rotor blades angle!I'll say no more. -
You sound traumatised... it will ease the burden if you share:popcorn:.The things we have seen.... oh the things we have seen... -

From talking with some very experienced trike pilots they are saying a few people finding the SST pretty slippery, they are detuning to make it a 'feel more comfortable', which defeats the purpose of the strut brace. However I do not think there is any relationship with that and second sales at all... you don't need to sell the base AND the wing together after all.
Further, Airborne are continuously developing, upgrading and assessing their wings. That is the beauty of the flex wing, they may have just changed the cut of a few panels, different hardware set up, new sail making technique (rim and fill), different camber control systems... ALL sorts of tweaks and tricks to make a better wing. just look at how many wings they have already... through out the range they sell and historically.

Yep... that's how I know... doing the same thing through YBBN and getting corrected entering YBAF from the southMy bad I suppose, previously flying in Amberley airspace I just spat out the info they required, then it becomes habit... cheers -
OH OK, no he has it in there under OUTBOUNDFrom memory the cheat sheet had listen to ATIS then ready call for take-off - in between you need a taxi clearance to the holding point. -
Hi ya, interested in what you mean here?Initial taxi call? -
POB Not required for VFR flights and you don't ask for clearance "inbound" at a reporting point for Class D.Not familiar with Bankstown or surrounds, but you would add the clearance request you are after... ie "request airways clearance"in your example. Also proactive to state POB in the call. ie. "POB 2" -
Nice, do a blank one, laminate it, so you can add relevant details with a china-graph pencil etc when you travel elsewhere.

Very easy to do, hard to do very well.

OH boy... I was thinking when he was in and around some of those buildings that he would have very little idea where and what rotor was hiding there ready to bite. Then at the very end he was honest enough to show it.

Strangely enough..... this time I was serious, go figure600mtrs is actually 60,000cm... but I won't let the truth get in the way of a good story*Tex knows that I'm sure, but just incase anyone else thought he was serious...
but the question was 1800' Tomo which is 548.64m
Psycologically (hope I've spelt that right) 1800 ft is longer and therefore a confidence booster.....I wonder how many centimetres that is. ???Alan.

I don't think you did anything wrong FD, but I don't think the twin pilot did either
-
Hi FD,It would seem I have opened a can of worms here, and am more being told what REALLY HAPPENED by people who seem to know better than me.From a very early post here is something I wrote:"Seperation now told to be about 600m horizontal 400m vertical"
If you are talking about me, I haven't told you anything, I was just asking a question to clarify, as you state you are 'educating people with a story of what happened'. I asked because your explanation of what happened is somewhat unclear to me, understandably; as it transpires it appears it is only now becoming clear to you. I was just trying to highlight the pertinent details so I could understand what happened.
Not sure why you keep going on about where you have gotten this information from, no one seems to have asked or even mentioned it, except you.
Regrads,
Tex

Fair enough... tough crowd in here, that's for sure

Flat"ish" David "ISH" ..... I just wanted to put the video upTex,There is nothing flat about those, look at the longitudinal axis of the aircraft relative the ground and compare that with the horizon position, that is a good nose down spin.-
