  1. Congrats good job, I decided to give up the grog, New years resolution (yawn). Still, eat crap and don't exercise enough but dropped 10 kegs anyway... If only i could get motivated to do the rest might get back to into my old Jeans!

2 kids under 2 is my excuse ;) too busy - cue worlds smallest violin...

Don't give up I have had a few false starts before getting all the weight off. And I don't have kids. So I was able to stay focused

  2. Obesity and Diabetes, type 1 and type 2 are very serious health issues and no joking matter! My above post was my attempt to show that for me, Sugar has never caused me to become Obese or Diabetic! I`ve always been very active and still am and I believe, energy in, energy out! I use up a lot of energy in my normal day.

I would never, ever, recommend that anyone, do ANYTHING! that I do! I said it earlier! We are all individual and therefore need to find what works best for ourself.

with weight watchers you still have all the normal foods and sugar.

  3. Six months just to see a BONE SPECIALIST for their referral letter, then I might get onto a waiting list for public hospital for the next few years.

Have my GP writing the referral to said bone doctor. I heard there is a dr in Merrilands or Wentworthville who bulk-bills, but doesn't advertise that fact.

The health care system is not good. In the late nineties i had and issue with my left ankle and was on the victorian waiting list for years. it was never fixed i just had to live with it. fast forward to 2014 and my right knee started to give out on my i had to stop work. But i was lucky that my employer had to hold my job for me. I had private health cover so i was in hospital and had a full knee replacement and back at work in two months. I just had to pay hospital excess. The cost to do the replacement was 35g

  4. I was watching an old ABC four corners report from the 1961 and the people where well spoken they were also average size. These day they say parents will outlive their kids. one reason why is kids get driven to school these day. myself we rode or walked an hour each way to school.

  5. On Friday I resolved to eat and drink healthy and exercise more. Sat urday and Sunday I did and felt great. Today I am camped by a lake and drank half a bottle of wine and ate a lot of cheese biscuits and a meat pie. I don’t understand why I can’t keep up the good lifestyle for more than a couple of days. Yesterday I could have sworn that I had turned it a round. Right now I am thinking of walking into town to the pub for a beer and dinner.

Maybe you should not take wine and cheese and pies camping with you.

  6. You are right Clinton. I am a sixties child and it was unheard of eating take away. I live in mackay and they won the award for the most overweight town in QLD And the other day they were celebrating the facts mcdonalds now sells burgers and fries 24/7. we are doomed.

  7. The oldies tend to do OK in endurance situations, rather than sprint or weight  lifting achievement The injury aspect is a serious problem  as the weaknesses developed when you are immobilised don't recover like when you were younger.. Exercise of a certain kind will improve bone density which should be checked before doing any serious work.   Nev

Your right at 54 i lift less weight but do more repetitions. but when i was a spring chicken i was big weights!

  8. I had a relative who went to thailand for weight loss surgery RISKY! I know. anyway i didn't want to go down this path as i have heard people cheat with milk shakes and stuff like that. I feel it's a lifestyle and mindset and keeping on top of that so you don't put it back on. One for me is ride days at motorcycle tracks you have to fit into your leathers. and i know you can get them made bigger but weight slows you down.

  9. Good result. Now don't put it back on again. That's a lot of housebricks.. I'm trying to take off 22 Kgs. I'm not going to post images Kids might come on this site. Nev

That is a concern. but i have made lifestyle changes and stay away from trigger foods.
