  1. hey cm27.

I have been looking at http://www.sportys.com/pilotshop/ . Who claim to be the largest pilot training school and product supplies in the US. I purchased a few US training dvds to learn their rules as to be able to fly there. Yes you may find some things cheeper but remember the cost of postage (in my case it nearly doubled the purchase price) on top of that I have been waiting over a month. Last week I sent them an email asking if their Express Airmail was a rag and tube outfit 006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif.... They did reply and didnt seem to see the funny side of it.

Check CLEAR PROP for what you need, if its not available i'm sure Ian will be able to source it for you. Sure beats the high postage cost and long waits, plus your supporting aussies

  2. DEAR DESPERATE,

First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.

If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.) Also do not attempt to reinstall Boyfriend 5.0 program.

These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0. In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.

You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

    Good luck

  3. Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0, NHL 3.0 and Golf Clubs 4.1. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

    What can I do?

    Signed,

    Desperate

  4. You have my interest Ozzie:thumb_up:. Its Harleys 105th at Milwaukee this year on the 27th Aug. and the whole town puts on a good show. I couldnt get away this time because of work commitments BUGGA!!!. Its on around the same time as Oshkosh and Sturgis and I always do the 3. Now that I'm learning to fly Oshkosh will be even more interesting.:big_grin::big_grin:

  5. most of us can be a bit thin skinned at times depending on recent events. The great thing about this post is it has generated some very positive support for our boys/girls in blue. 011_clap.gif.c796ec930025ef6b94efb6b089d30b16.gif Good onya - where would we be without you?

try driving a semi trailer around the countryside Pete, then tell me what you think of them. hehe! . . . I had 3 trucks running Syd - Pth for about 25 years. Guess they must have put all the not so good ones on heavy trafic duties. lol - water under the bridge now. Good thread though.

PS. even if its on me a joke is a joke, especially if someone gots a laugh out of it. its our Aussie way of life ;)

  6. Doug I have recently heard talk about parafield being shifted so guess it wont be long before it is suburbia. Have you seen the industrial buildings popping up south of the Edinbourgh strip. Developers are also nibbling there too. I was taught to prepare for an EFATO EVERY TIME I take off which I do, wonder how the RAF pilots cope now.

JohnH sorry for straying off topic again but its what this forum seems to do

  7. hahaha! your a woos Doug just like me  . . I too opted for an out of town one and I'm glad I did. But eventually airports even busier than Parafield will have to be negotiated, later down the track though.

  8. A passenger in a taxi leaned over to ask the driver a question and tapped him on the shoulder. The driver screamed, lost control of the cab, nearly hit a bus, drove up over the curb, and stopped just inches from a large plate glass window.

For a few moments everything was silent in the cab, and then the still shaking driver said, 'I'm sorry, but you scared the daylights out of me.'

The frightened passenger apologized to the driver and said he didn't realize a mere tap on the shoulder could frighten him so much.

The driver replied, 'No, no, I'm sorry, it's entirely my fault. Today is my first day driving a cab................... I've been driving a hearse for the last 25 years.'

  9. Sorry to hear you were grounded Bass. I got some more flying time in today (sat) as weather at Murray Bridge was absolutley beautiful, unlike yeaserday when heavy gusts and rain kept me grounded. You are right about doing the rounds, which I will do after I get my wings, to date I have only ever flown the 170 and love it. My chioce for the 230 at the moment is: cabin area and ponies to carry the extra gear. (now before anyone starts, no I'm not carrying contriband :hittinghead: lol) its Aussie built and prety reliable. Is there any other reasonably priced plastic on the market that can claim this. I have heard a bit about the 760KG rule, is there a date yet or is it still here say?

  10. thanks Motz you have taken the words right of my mouth , and even though I have passed my third ( radio ops ) exam all on the first attempt, I will still study them, not just put them at the back of my mind.

another good post thanks Nev. I see what you mean and fully undertsand there will be different terminology etc. as I have seen a few demo vids already. I dont intend to take too much to heart until I have passed navs and any other exams to Aussie standards, but what I do need to learn eventually is the yanky criteria if its ever possible to fly there. I hear other pilots say that we're coming into line with the FAA ( or vice versa ) more all the time.

    Steve

oh and the poor guys not scared

  11. hi Johm and welcome, a 230 is my choice also but i'm a long way off that yet ( still a student ) then I have to get the money together. Jabiru had a couple 230s on their website a few weeks ago, maybe worth a look

  12. Hi Bilby, maybe you have misinterpreted me. I DO have impeccable planes, a good school, EXCELLENT CFI and instructors whom I AM VERY HAPPY WITH and am well on the way to becoming a pilot.... what I was referring to was.. I find it easier to learn from dvds than reading books, on top of that I want to never stop learning (heard that somewhere before ey Nev ) and I think it will be good to look over the dvds from time to time, to brush up on things, it maybe just a personal thing but its what I want to do. Another point being which I havent mentioned before is that I visit the USA every couple of years and the dvds would most likely help me fly there too. That might be a hurdle to get over, which I havent looked into yet, but would an Aussie certificate and/or training be acceptable in the USA?

    Steve

  13. I read Jim Davis, the vfr guide and the ops manual, asked as many questions as I could and didnt have a problem with the pre solo or the bak. Now I have the radio exam which shouldnt be a problem either, then its navs and cross country. I'm thinking of getting a Recreational Pilot Flight Training Course on Interactive DVD Video from the states, they also have a transition to ppl one. Not being much of a reader ( I hate it actualy ) it may help me with the navs and x/c not to mention a going over of what I have already done. It may not be of much use here in OZ, will see. Anyway I'll keep you posted.

Bushpilot, how have the qualifying rules changed ? I havent read the new ops manual yet. theres no pictures in there so it may take me a while :ah_oh:
