Hi All, I was fortunate enough to fly the new Cessna Citation 680 Sovereign the other day. It is equipped with the impressive Garmin G5000. I thought I'd share a photo. Cheers Owen

Aircraft operations in that climate are a whole new ball game.....interesting. :-) Cheers

Hi Gary, Thanks for your kind words about 'Solo Flight'. I was just 'revisiting' where I might fly to next when I saw your post. The arctic sounds interesting. :-) Thanks again, Owen

Hi All, There's been a good deal of interest in the 'Jabiru Forum' so I thought let you know here that I've released the book about my charity flight around Australia in the Jabiru J230D. It's titled 'Solo Flight' and has around 200 pictures from the trip. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HETIJJ4 Cheers Owen

Hi 'jorditzu9', Thanks for your interest. 'Solo Flight' can be read on any iPad or PC. Here are the links on how to do it http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?docId=1000426311 and http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?docId=1000490441 'MagnetoDrop' is also correct that 'Solo Flight' became available on iTunes this week. Thanks again one and all. Cheers Owen

Thanks again 'cooperplace'. The feedback is greatly appreciated. It makes the effort of putting the flight down in words and images all worthwhile. Cheers, Owen

Thanks 'cooperplace'. The support of this community was great at the time of the flight and has been the same since the book was released. The flight itself was fulfilling on a number of levels. As a fundraiser for the RFDS, to promote the role and history of aviation in Australia and to meet so many wonderful people along the way. Without doubt the flight is a highlight of my 17,000 hours of flying and 49 years of living. Cheers mate, Owen

Hi All, Yes, I was very fortunate to have the chance to undertake this flight. As mentioned by 'facthunter', planning was critical to the flight being both safe and timely. In fact the first few chapters discuss the planning steps that took place long before I ever got off the ground. (You can view these planning chapters for free on Amazon as they allow a 'peak' inside. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HETIJJ4 ) Cheers Owen

Hi All, I've had some messages further to my post asking who I am. :-) The Avatar photo was taken from a flight around Australia that I completed. This particular shot is at RAAF Tindal with a 75 SQN Hornet behind the Jabiru J230D. I'm a commercial pilot by trade and an aviation writer in my 'other life'. I write for a number of magazines and regularly feature in 'Australian Aviation'. One of my most pleasurable tasks is flying and reviewing various aircraft types. I've written three books/eBooks as well; "Down to Earth", "50 Tales of Flight" and my new one, "Solo Flight" ( http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HETIJJ4 ) which is about that amazing trip in the Jabiru. As you've guessed, I'm passionate about aviation of all types. Cheers, Owen

"Biplane" By Richard Bach is a short but quality book. It follows his flight across the USA in....a biplane. Cheers Owen

Cheers.

Hi, I replied in the forum, but I thought I'd say thanks again for your kind words about '50 Tales of Flight'. Cheers, Owen.

Hi 'Head in the Clouds', Firstly, thanks so much for the kind words about '50 Tales of Flight'. I can now say that I have finished my "next one" and it is titled 'Solo Flight' about when I flew a Jabiru around Australia and raised funds for the RFDS. The book only went 'live' on Amazon yesterday and went to 'number one' in its category overnight. Here's the link to 'Solo Flight' http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HETIJJ4 Thanks again for the kind words, I sincerely appreciate the feedback. Cheers Owen

Hi All, I just came across this animation of a fatal Cirrus accident in the US. The aircraft was performing unapproved low-level aerobatics at the time. It is rather sobering and has a tragic outcome. http://tinyurl.com/lfxan9z Cheers, Owen

Hi All, The Editor at 'Australian Aviation' has kindly allowed me to post my 'Air Test' of the Brumby 610 on this forum. Apologies for the low resolution images, but that was necessary to make the attachment fit. I hope you enjoy the review. Cheers, Owen OZ Airtest JF 2.pdf OZ Airtest JF 2.pdf OZ Airtest JF 2.pdf
