  1. Errol Flynn comes to mind, Truganini, Simon Baker just to name a few and the infamous Tassy Devil, oh well lets see what the future shall bring
  2. Maybe your right who knows really but as you say nice looker
  3. At last some solid transom brackets, lol looking good with that flat bottom should make for a very shallow draft, suit my short leg lol
  4. Thanks Rotax618 and Yenn and Ken for putting his lovely well maintained machine up for reluctant sale. The lime green and black is a striking colour scheme
  5. Boorabee, mark 2 no 7 in the series 150 hours Jabaru powered 2.2 Always hangared $20,000 Extras: Prop copying machine Special tools, for fabric and lots of tools for maintenance. Contact Ken 07 49781172 or [email protected]
  6. Rotax618 how many of these did you build over time, how many where build altogether if built by others, and what is the significance of the dimples in the pod, and then one must ask where did all the molds go for this pod. Looking at the two, Boorabee and Shutle they could be the same if not for those distinctive dimples in the pod so how different were the two craft from one another, you say the shutle is more a glider yet wing profile looks identical.
  7. What a great looking strip and so close to me, hopefully one day down the track will be able to make my own way across.
  8. Can you remember the asking price just for interest, and thanks Mick and Bill
  9. Thanks Rotax618, I believe its in NZ now, it's a lovely little aircraft and a credit to your skills.
  10. What an amazing machine, now that's a Thruster, sorry chaps.
  11. Kermit what a beautiful walnut panel, reminds me of of my old 1955 Vauxhall Cresta I had many a year ago.
  12. From what I know the original was made using the rear fuselage of a Drifter with new wings and cockpit built for two. then there was another copy of this and think 4 were made possibly 2 still flying Mk1 Shuttle single place where as the Boorabee was a 2 place.
  13. Just wanted to know if anyone has any relevant information on the Boorabee Ultralight, have you flow one, flight handling characteristics, nasty's or nicety's, all pro's and con's, maybe know where there is one. Cheers AB
  14. Most likely they all come out of the same factory, that looks pretty spiffy on your panel.
  15. Thank you, will keep it in mind, and like you said, @ $12 can always throw it in the tinny.
  16. That maybe the case if it's just in one direction, it will not be just going up and down, all airframes will flex, and not just in one direction, torque from the engine will twist it one way, pressure from vert stab and rudder another, landing yet another again and so on, so the weakest point will be on the gusset at just bellow top longeron where the vertical brace starts and just above bottom longeron where the same brace ends, any sideways flexing here may or could fatigue over time regardless of allowable load limits. Just my thoughts.
  17. I have USB charging in my old forunner surf, also on my bike and will certainly be installing one on my little B1rd, maybe some of you chaps may have a reason for not installing one so would like to know if there is a reason, all these extra batteries and such are out, there is also a 4 port version of this and can't complain about the price, guess modding is a no no in GA craft. I like this one as it is panel mount. Car Motorcycle Phone Gauge Meter Voltage Volt Waterproof Dual USB Socket Charger Motorcycle Car Boat Phone GPS 4 Port USB Power Socket Adapter Charger Waterproof
  18. Or a drill stop, they fit onto the drill and tighten with a grub screw, even some tape around the drill and even pressure and slower. Bex is just trying to show how quick it can be done, and I guess it's up to each and every purchaser as to how they go about it. A few extra hours in the build time are nothing if it's done correctly and competently.
  19. OMG thought lettuce was damn smart, I am taking my own food if I ever head to OS again. Prawns me lads dig in, yumm yumm and no shell bits in yar teeth.
  20. Agree's and yes fatigue life is what was in the back of my head concerning gap movement, and that squeaky noise is annoying lol
