red 750 has a link to a video of the plane that had the exhaust system wrapped in that stuff. As I'm a bit of a dummy in the ways of technology. if he is willing he may like to post it. Just fer a giggle, the sound of it is a good indication why wrapping is not a good idea on air scooters.

This all seems to work out well for anyone who has a concern or inquiries in regards to most things aviation or otherwise. Apparent case of constructive advise from a diverse field of experience. I'm impressed.

Me thinks Fact finder has it wrapped up. (Pun intended) A Harley Shovel takes a littler longer down the quarter mile than a rice burner. Gets hot, but not for long. And I really can't bring to mind a time or tide when it was ever in cruise mode. So, it appears we may have arrived at the facts, bad investment in aircraft application but looks impressive on motor sickles. Keep ya knees in the breeze. (Even if ya have to live in shame of riding a ricer. Snigger, snigger giggle.)

I wrapped my Shovel Head's pipes and they were straight out slash cut. The engine was worked and a strong runner, and didn't have trouble with it. I can only assume that because the pipes weren't short and in the breeze it didn't rot them. However the pipes on a plane are protected somewhat more from direct airflow. I don't know enough about this stuff, but I do know the different effect it had between the two.

Bex, I may be slow and not very good lookin. But I want my plane to fast and good lookin. KRviator. Sounds nice, the one I've been tryin ta get me hairy fingers on ain't that flash but suits me. The owner an meself can't come to a price that he will let it go, an l can't come up. So here l am tryin ta find another one.

WOW! So it is possible, I had no idea it was already a reality. Thanks for posting the video, it may have got others interested. A plastic kit plane, now that I would be interested in. The wings printed as a honeycomb unit with wiring, spars and fuel cells all in one piece attached screwed to fuse seats the lot. Let's do it. -

Mate! I'd get old getting there. And as l said centre line seating and fast. I need to get from Tassy to central Oz in a day. Around 150 kts with 6hrs endurance. I've considered just about everything, and taken advice on other types and evaluated it and rejected it. I'm not a novice and have owned other planes in the past 40 years, and know what and why I need a certain type of plane. I understand and genuinely appreciate your suggestion, the Auster can't do it.

G'day KVaitor. Thanks for the reply, I'm only interested in the RV4 or an 8. I don't intend to take passenger's, so single place centre line tail draga is my heart's desire. With enough room for some tucker, quart pot and light swag. There are some places out the back of beyond that I've been to in the past that I want to visit again. I've considered other aircraft like Cessna 188 Ag Wagon, Pawnee, Fatman, Willga etc. These choices were only to get some gear into where I want to get to. But dropped the idea, mostly because there unobtainable, too pricey or just cost to much to maintain and run.

G'day. Just ta stick me nose in. I wrapped my exhaust (912 in a Baby Super Great Lakes) with this stuff and low and behold, BIG drama. After about 100 hrs lost one pipe at the head, another at the muffler. Keeps the heat out of the engine bay an off the firewall an keeps it in the engine and burns out the pipes. Toss it!

Pardon me fer sticking me two bobs worth in. I've been wonderin, if they can use these 3D printin thingies to do stuff, why can't they build a bigger printer an print a plane out of carbon fiber an cook it? Light, strong, cheap, an slicker than cat crap off a linoleum floor. -
I voted fer her, only because she says what most of us are thinking. And it's about the only way I get to have my say, and thats through her. Maybe she's been influenced by others (the past has shown it's been by blokes that can't cut the cheese on their own) She's like any other poly, get as much as they can, an just given them self 3% raise and senior public servants, and the pensioners get nuthin. I believe that the only bloke that worth being there is Barnaby Joyce. He's got em the size of emu eggs, and puts the rest to shame, especially Harbour side mansion, an that bunch of sick jokes on the other side of the shed. Barny fer President!

Yeah right, the only paintin l know is paintin the ground brown from up here in the canopy. China ay. Ave they go them electric planes flyin over there yet? It won't be long before the oil runs out an we are gonna be lookin for sumthin else to get airborne.
