There is a range of aircraft here, trikes, gyro's, heli, ultralight and GA stuff... When you zoom out, it still shows names of towns close by, rivers, coastlines, forests etc... so for XC as a cheap alternative to expensive aviation gps, it's ok, I would still do manual calculations, but you have the added benefit of using GPS to help keep you on track and check your ground speed. Obviously it won't do flight calculations and show airspace.

Hi just use my Navman GPS, same I use in car, but I zoom the map screen out and display the speed (in KM). It's fine for general flying and maps in colour with big screen.
