This video has certainly gone viral .... It should have been obvious to any pilot that if your lightie needs more runway than a 747 on a hot day it's time to shut the throttle . What a ridiculous display of irresponsible piloting .

I seem to recall seeing this footage somewhat earlier, but that's by the by.

I'm only on the outside looking in (ie a non-pilot) but am I interpreting incorrectly somewhere?

 

It looks to me as though they're well & truly airborne, but for some reason the pilot either cannot, or chooses not to, ascend to a safe altitude.

 

And they were all very very lucky.

Rough calculation shows density alt would have been over 9000', looking on google and estimating the lift off point from the video (which is hard to tell) looks like they took nearly 1km to lift off... or lifted off and touched down again for a bit .............. no flaps set either?
