farri
After reading the story of the Zwillingsbiber brothers, I realy didn`t know just what to think as I wasn`t aware of these types of aircraft. Today I was taking another look through an old issues of Sport Pilot, October 2011 in fact, and this picture caught my attention! It appears that the concept isn`t so silly, after all. Frank. petetheprinta
maybe 2 jabirus would work. If you joined two Jabs, would they be twice as good... or twice as bad

facthunter
Generally silly idea. Has to be a monstrous compromise, hardly likely to be efficient. Think of the control runs, and the assy situation doesn't bear thinking about Nev.
Guest Howard Hughes
Rutan's Boomerang uses a similar concept.
facthunter
Probably a matter of using what is available , more than developing a design from basics. They tend to be a bit "rubbery" as a structure also. Nev
eightyknots
Pipestel, the makers of the Virus, Sinus and Taurus recently won a $USD1,350,000 prize for a "double-trouble" version with electric motors: The prize was won for flying 200 miles with an electric aircraft under two hours flying time. eightyknots
This set-up was made using two Taurus motor gliders ...with extensive modifications, of course.
