pilotdave69
Just saw this report on Seven news ! A police guard remains at the site of a helicopter crash, near Mudgee, in which a man died. Emergency services were alerted to the crash about 11am today (9 December) when the wreckage of the Robin44 aircraft was found in steep and rugged bushland at Grattai, about 25km south-west of Mudgee. The pilot, a 48-year-old man from the local area, died at the scene. A crime scene was established and has been preserved overnight; it will be examined by NSW Police Force air crash investigators and officials from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) tomorrow. It’s believed the man was spraying weeds.

turboplanner
I can understand the high numbers of R22 going in, but R44 models also seem to have unusually high numbers.

damkia
Helicopters: they fly in much the same way as a brick doesn't. Condolences to the family. I still have clear and vivid memories of seeing the Ch7 helicopter crash video back in the 80's. The footage was shot from inside the chopper at floor level as it spiraled down. Still sends goosebumps down my spine thinking about it 30 yrs later...
