Robert Posted October 25, 2013 Share Posted October 25, 2013 Hi all Have recently purchased an aircraft with a Hirth 2706 on board which now has no spark on either ign circuits I suspect the CDI units. Has anyone experiance with these motors especially on how to check the CDI units (Iskra 16754076) or if there is an agent in Aust or where i could get a couple of these CDI units Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

techie49 Posted October 25, 2013 Share Posted October 25, 2013 Hi Robert, I can claim no experience of this engine but would suggest you check around your ignitions. What I mean to say is unless one was gone when you bought it, it's unlikely both have died together. Is there a common 12V supply? What triggers the ignition if it's separate to the CDI unit? I was easily able to find service instructions for this engine (2706). As usual it may be necessary to replace a unit to check it. Can't see why both would fail at the same time.
