Hope the rossers catch the buggers. Well organised and specialised gang by the look of it Planey. . . this has been going on for a few years. 'Some' engines, suspected to be from the UK were found a couple of weeks ago by police, these were discovered concealed in a barn in Italy when the cops were looking for something else. We're still awaiting confirmation that these are connected with the UK thefts. ( As for our 'Rozzers' Larf ! They only seem to police 'Hate speech' on social media nowadays. /sarc. Sadly, they don't even bother to visit homeowners following domestic burglaries any more ) Come back 'Dixon of Dock Green'. . .all is forgiven. . . Phil Perry
Unless the Homeowner beats the snot out of the Burgler, then the Homeowner gets arrested. Yes,. . .sadly, one chap a few years ago, ( Tony Martin was his name ) following serial burglaries at his remote farm property, actually shot and killed a raider with his legally held shotgun, and went to jail for it. ( The charge being 'Aggravated Manslaughter' ) None of the previous crimes against him were ever investigated by the Plod, even though it became obvious that they really KNEW the family of rogues behind all the raids. . . so it is fairly easy to see why some people finally lose their rag and become fairly angry when the people paid to protect them do not do their job. . . I don't condone what he did, but I DO understand his frustration. He was released afer three years following a constant public outcry. . . ( They DO listen . . .sometimes. . .)

Phil Perry
I do, have no problem at all with someone killing a burglar inside their house. He got the 'Manslaughter' charge, as the defence team pointed out that since this was not a 'Premeditated shooting'. . and that he was obviously under stress, that he could not sentence the bloke for 'Murder' which means LIFE in the uk ( usually seven years. . .! ) The jury who found him guilty by a 10 to 2 majority verdict, were not allowed at any time during the trial, to hear any evidence of the previous burglaries. . . . . what wonderful justice systems we have. . . . so they convicted him thinking it was a one- off 'Over-reaction' . . .jeeze. . . Not surprising. "The Law is a fool". Don't forget the "Law" is a business just like doctors, dentists etc. who make decisions and recommendations to support their next money making venture (I am sure I will be lambasted for this comment), however we now live in a society that is driven by the dollar so if the truth hurts tuff.
