Hello. Just wondering if anyone knows where to get a 2:1 reduction gearbox that is suitable for a 100hp engine (Subaru EA81). Redrive PSRU Gearbox Reduction Drive Belt Redrive in Poland used to make them but they don't seem to anymore. Foxcon don't make a 2:1 + the price quoted was AU$4000.

Thank you

Richard

Hi Richard, Buy a Rotax 2.6:1 B gearbox , save yourself a lot of net searching and angst. I spent a long time trying to get a belt drive to run true on my EA 81 but gave up and bolted a Rotax to a 16 mm plate to the bellhousing , now I have a smooth runing prop.(72 inch three blade Warp Drive). I paid ...I think $1960 for a new one off Mr Flood about three years ago.

Cheers Paul.

2:1 is a very bad ratio, needs to be an uneven number or the same gear teeth take all of the power pulses and will soon fail. Ther was a CAM drive Honda with a 2:1 ratio, didn’t last too long.
