When you take these jobs you are a "Public" figure, not just a demagogue in an office, and some flak is part of the deal. If you can't take the heat, don't go in the kitchen. Lies, however should not be tolerated, where they are evident and there's some mechanism for correcting them. In that area the Individual comes a poor second to organisations like the CASA where some have had their lives ruined and don't have the resources to fight it.
