I have never had one, 40 years of very successful two stroke flying now. Hopefully the endorsement instructed pilots to read the         engine operation manual, POH etc, no different to any other aircraft or engine system.

Me neither, it has never been a thing in the UK and decades of prior 2 stroke experience probably aided more than any endorsement could when I got my first aircraft with  503, but not everyone who gets a licence to fly has experience of engines of any type and in the case of licence categories  that allow owner maintenance some training might well be usefull for them.

It's a mistake to assume that just because something is bad or unnecessary for you the same applies to everyone.

So why didn't they have a 4 stroke endorsement.

I would agree with 2 stroke familiarisation being included in the syllabus but not as an add on you have to pay extra for.

Mind you some of the stuff posted about oil ratios shows a definite lack of understanding by some people.

Don't ask me I dont make the rules.

P.S.  Maybe they think more people have experience of 4 strokes in one form or another I really dont know but I'm pretty sure the majority of people under about 40 wouldnt even attempt an oil change on their car these days, the  lack of knowledge and experience of anything mechanical amongst the majority of youngsters in the developed world is frankly shocking
