danny_galaga Posted Saturday at 07:49 AM Author Posted Saturday at 07:49 AM Very interesting footage from the 50's. I've always been impressed with how they were able to radio control such complicated aircraft, pre digital proportional days.
onetrack Posted Saturday at 09:08 AM Posted Saturday at 09:08 AM Operation Teapot. danny_galaga Posted Saturday at 10:46 AM Author Posted Saturday at 10:46 AM Poms did this too. A know someone who's father, who used to be in the Navy was exposed to nuclear fallout. He died of cancer, most likely from that. 1
onetrack Posted Saturday at 11:16 AM Posted Saturday at 11:16 AM The worst part is, the veterans illnesses from nuclear testing were never acknowledged for decades - and all the Govts, U.S., U.K. and Australian, fought to avoid accepting any responsibility, or pay any compensation to the veterans, until it was far too late for many of them. It's a pretty shameful record from people in high places, who enjoyed superior wealth, health and living conditions, compared to the men they sent into nuclear sites as human test dummies. 2
facthunter Posted Sunday at 12:14 AM Posted Sunday at 12:14 AM The Poms never cleaned up Aus either. 1 Microgram of plutonium will kill you. The dust from tests went all over the east. Lots of leukemia in young people. Nev 1
