Att; Website owners

Its not often I pass along an email scam notice.. these things are usually sooo obvious.

 

But I received an invoice in the snail mail from a company called DOMAIN RENEWAL GROUP. its a US firm with a base in Collins St, Melbourne. So on face value, it had a greater look of being genuine.

 

Essentially, it said to ensure my domain name could not be used by anyone else, I needed to pay this firm $75 a year.

 

My first thought was "Dosen't my web service already do that?"

 

The answer is yes, they do. And so will yours.

 

So, if you have a website up and running and you get an invoice in the post from DOMAIN RENEWAL GROUP, just file it in the bin.

 

Or, do what I did.. send them back their envelope with no stamp, and nothing in it. :devil:
