  1. As someone who has seen a lot of car and truck engines on the up side of "cooked to buggery", engine temperature senders are WATER temperature senders not AIR temperature senders. Otherwise there would be not a lot of advantage of being set in the water jacket.
  2. Because it creates a low pressure area. The air becomes less able to support the weight of the dissolved water (water vapor) and so it condenses into clouds. Similar to orogenic clouds over mountains.
  3. Nice one Tomo. Curtiss XP-62 I originally thought it was a Grumman looking at the image.. namely the XF-14C but the tail was too high and the canopy was different. This one also had a radial version. Stanzahero.
  4. How about: "A woman drove me to drink, and I never even had the courtesy to thank her." W. C. Fields
  5. Mustangs at Piont Cook This is an old one from me taken before they had the wheels up landing a few years back (I'm not sure if it was one of these). post script: The P-51D in the foreground was the aircraft which did the wheels up in April 08.

  9. In answer to Decca's question about the golfer... Jack Newton... Which is where the joke comes from: How much force does it take to stop a propeller? Half a Newton.
  10. Well Done!! I bounced the landing on my first solo so I had a "recovery practice" as well... Like the pic... Stanzahero.
  11. Hi Jay, I do see it as a nice aircraft... And I do think I'd be better off buying a factory built plane as even sandwiches that I put together fall apart.. The price and weight puts it in that same category as the bigger aircraft - not achievable; ... for me currently, anyway. Stanzahero.
  12. I didn't realize the Hurricane had a dihedral on the tail... Unless you mean a "REAL LITTLE BIT", or it was painted with roundels, your screen must be fuzzy, Jay. :)
  13. Good hit. German Dornier Do 335A FE
  14. I thought the star would send you a red herring... Do you know which?
  15. New plane for everyone... This was not taken by me... ...And the plane is in the foreground, not the bomber at the back.
  16. Hi Skeptic, Incase you are skeptic... http://www.raa.asn.au/techmanual/3-5-3.pdf here is the official doc... (sorry about the pun... but at times I think I'm a comedian...)
  17. Love the comment about the jelly-fish!!!!
  18. Hi Shags, What are you writing it in? Java or VB? Stanzahero.
  19. Hi Ray and Maree. I remember the flight well. Both Bec and myself were given a taste of the Eurofox. Although I'm a little puzzled as to why the thread has just shown up for me... Glad to have you guys aboard. Stan.
  20. I have no doubt that I'd be replaced by the dog in a flash (in the pax seat only) if the wife had half a chance... Do you have dogs, dazza?
  21. It made my first fixed wing solo look pretty good...
