I'M looking at taking my tail plane off and wanting any tips or procedure of how to get it off without stuffing anything up.

Just wanting to know is the Garmin 495 a better unit then the Aera 550. The Aware Airspace GPS's, are they better again for navigating in the country areas or are the designed specifically for areas around controlled airspace.

I haven't heard anymore about this aircraft, has anyone?, other than the savanah web.

Its mounted to the back of the wing, well the engine with its own craddle.

I have had oil injection on my drifter for about 18 months or so now but wasn't happy with the plumping out in free air. As time went on the plumbing started to sag a little causing me a little concern. I have seen a mates where the oil hose runs behind the rv bottle and then around but is alittle hard to see as he has the big plastic air filter on and is a little hard to see in the shed with minimal light. Can anyone send a photo of their installation or something. Cheers.

I should clarify a little more, my apologises, engine is only about 50hrs old what I meant to say was when you can rub your finger on the cylinder wall it appears to be a light white powderish look so one day I thought kero would clean it a bit better but to be on the safe side I thought that I should ask here and maybe there might be something better to clean it with. Using kero it did clean it quite well but just to be on the safe side to ask. Cheers.

My trusty ol 582 appears to be getting some sort of flake on the outside of the cylinders and was wandering is there some sought of cleaner or something to make it look brand new again like this one I saw on barnstormer.

Even though the new J-170D is out I see the Jab Web Site hasn't updated it on their site yet?.

My aircraft battery appears to be dying when under load eg. when starting the engine (Rotax 582) and I have just got on the web to identify where I could possibly purchase a new battery but I'm not having any luck. The battery in question is a Power Block PB12-170 Sealed VRLA AGM, can someone please give me any details where I maybe able to purchase one of these. Cheers.

On my 582 I think by memory that one ignition drops a liitle and the other will drop say about 400rpm, it has always done this in the checks even when I had the ol silver head in it.

I went down to Supercheap and the water probes they have there have a longer probe that goes into the coolant, will the longer probe hit anything when I put it into the head of the motor or do I have to get the same length prob as the original one.

I have a 582 with a water probe that has 2 wires extending out an epoxied hole in the probe and appears to be faulty now as it some times works, the needle sought of comes up then drops off, the last probe I had did this and I thought it was the guage so bought a new guage and later found out that it was the probe. I see MGL have a water probe with a one wire attachment to it and no epoxy in the centre, can I use this probe instead of the 2 wire epoxy one as it is giving me grief. Cheers.

Does anybody know the difference between the Icom A6 (Yank Version) and the Icom A6E (European Version) as they both have the same frquencies and are identical in every way except one has an E for European Model.

Does anyone know when the date is when it is mandatory to have a epirb if flying beyond a distance from departure of 50 nautical miles. I was thinking of doing a navex that would put me outside the 50 mile radius and wasn't if the ruling was in place yet.

I will be keeping an eye on the RV Tank for discolouration and if it appears making quantity but can it be possible for the ceramic seal to all of a sudden stop leaking and working as it is suppose to rather than fill between the two seals.
