If your radio is on with a stuck transmit button surely you could identify that the button was stuck on but I guess I'm yet to find out.

Hey Techie, In today's times money is a bit hard to come by unless your in the drug market or a politician, but you could save yourself $141.00. I know it is a tricky one but people are just trying to get best bang for their hard earned cash.

The only time I turn my radio on is when I'm in the airplane and turn it off when I exit the airplane. Not sure what you mean by ( bumping the transmit button is say for example accidentally bumped when in your flight bag etc...like when your mobile phone makes all those unknown phone calls )?. When my radio is in my flight bag it is switched to off and takes a little to turn it on.

Just wanting to know what people have for their exhaust bracket set up. I see some drifters a little while ago have got some sort of rubber set up between the exhaust bracket and the engine. Can someone show me their set up with this rubber mat in place, and where can I source this rubber with exhaust brackets. This is my set up and thinking of changing it.

Just had a L2 replace my engine mounts on my 582 drifter with repco engine mounts ( Black Rubber ). With these new mounts there appears to be a noticeable vibration through the pod only at idle 2200-2600 rpm. I was told that these were the original mounts for the drifter. Can anyone give me more info on theses mounts please. I'm hoping the mounts will settle down after awhile and the idle vibs might disappear. Cheers.

I have an oil injected 582 with about 150 hours and still runnin like a well oiled machine. I had a pre-mix 582 before I bought this one and had no problems as well only plugs looked a tad oily but still good. Oil injection is not rocket science, make sure there is enough oil in your oil tank for the flight ( I always fill mine to the near top before each flight regardless ) and just make sure the tank outletis higher than the pump inlet. In regards to the in line filter I haven't changed mine out yet and I know of a oil injected drifter with about 580 hours and believe has never changed his filter.

This is a shame as the ol drifter is a good classy airplane, hopefully not all good things come to an end.

Are they a 100kt machine or do they do a little better?.

This forum has gone very quiet and I like these aircraft, are they still manufacturing these aircraft?.

Only to scrape out the 515, just give it a bit of running time and it should be all good if there is no discoluration in the rv tank.

Hey Jacko, I ahve done nearly 200 hours now and haven't had a weap since, Wal or Garry, can't remember now said perhaps that seal took a little longer to seal up.

Nose wheel broken at firewall. Isn't that just below the engine???????, musn't be able to see past the engine, ( too much sh*& on glasses). Aircraft pulling to the left etc ,etc, wouldn't you think as soon as that water's edge was getting close and things could go pear-shape (catistrophic situational awareness), ABORT!, ABORT!, at least if u abort (before hitting the water), you can have another go or just turn around try the other way, maybe they just don't teach abort take-off these days, or maybe we are just too keen to get airborne and dont' care about the potential effect of our surroundings, DAMM I forgot to put a float on the left hand undercarriage leg.

Looking at getting new skins in the very near future and am looking at someone to replace them as I don't think myself am capable of doing a good job of it any suggestions?.

Does anyone know if this factory is still going?.
