  1. The State and Territory Health permitted purposes for leaving home are all stated in the positive, i.e. they are telling you you may leave home for essential shopping etc.

They haven't issued instructions to the negative because that would involve tens of thousands of different activities.

Most people have understood that and are remaining at home; others didn't understand or choose to look for loopholes.

The woman teaching her daughter to drive did not have an essential reason for leaving home. The Victorian Government confirmed this.

A person teaching someone to fly is in an identical situation

A person wanting to fly their own aircraft is also in an identical situation; it is not listed as a permitted purpose.

    It's all in the wording.

So are you trying to tell me that under the Queensland directive section 6 e subject to section 9 I can legally drive a car but not my aircraft?

Can I ride my motorbike? What about the tractor?(if registered)

You keep stating that I'm using a loophole.

I'm travelling from my private residence to another private residence. I'm going direct and not stopping anywhere else.

    NOT A LOOPHOLE.

  2. 'Stop looking for loopholes '

How about you stop giving incorrect information.

In Queensland I can legally fly from my private residence to another private residence as long as I adhere to the Queensland directive.

I've posted the link before and here it is again....

It's NOT a loophole, it is as per the directive.

  3. I followed all of the requirements as per the Queensland directive.

    Home Confinement requirements in Queensland

    1. A person who resides in Queensland must not leave their principal place of residence except for, and only to the extent reasonably necessary to accomplish, the following permitted purposes:

    e. to visit another person’s residence in accordance with paragraph 9;

Receiving up to 2 visitors at a residence

    1. Subject to paragraphs 10 to 12, a person who is an owner, resident, tenant, occupier, temporary occupier or person in control of a residence may allow up to two visitors who are not ordinarily members of the person’s household.
Examples of visitors – Family members and close friends

  4.

If the two people had adhered to the Stage 3 Direction, they wouldn't have left home, so the pilot would be alive and the passenger would not have been injured. That was not the cause of the crash, and not what killed the pilot, but is certainly relevent to the crash.

You know nothing about this crash, you don't even know what kind of aircraft it is.

Was it a training flight or was it a prospective buyer or any other type of commercial activity.

All legal reasons for flying even under your interpretation of the directive.

  5. Maritime Safety Queensland now say recreational boating is not allowed

There are a range of scenarios where you may want to take a boat out.

Boaties should be aware that the information below is subject to change based on the latest advice from the Chief Health Officer.

Find the latest advice on the Queensland Government's COVID-19 site.

While we aim to answer your specific questions here, the first question you should ask yourself is: do you need to take your boat out?

Queensland’s Chief Health Officer has been very clear—if you don’t need to be out then stay at home.

    That is now the law.

The same rules that apply on land also apply in our waterways, bays and out at sea.

If you’re looking for a loophole to leave the home, then you probably shouldn’t be heading out.

    Using your boat

You can go out in your boat, to travel to and from work or home, for EXERCISE or to fish.

  6. Also regarding the original post.....

My Ran S6S has a top mounted radiator with louvers in the top cowl,  below is the carbs then the exhaust.

The radiator is twice the size of the standard Rotax one but my CHT's are higher than a Savannah (as a example) so I don't believe that the location of the louvers on the top cowl work the best.

I also have had issues with the carb vent location due to airflow hitting them from different locations (disturbed /turbulent airflow)  which was one of the reasons I fitted a airbox.

  7. Mine has a alloy tube frame with centre brace and the two peice1.5 mm lexen bubbles out. The door frame is about 25mm from the opening.

I know the Savannah quite well, I helped a friend build one, it now has hinged windows on the upper half that can be opened in flight. I will try and get some photos.

Here is a clip of a door opening (unintentional) in flight ( not mine)
