In my experience it may be bug guts not rust. Get a blue scour pad and wd40 and try gently cleaning the marks off.Just wanting to know what people are using to get rid of rust spots on the flying wires, cheers.Kiwi

I believe the RAAus answered the questions put to them about the medicals correctly, they were asked questions and they answered them.
HOWEVER they should have abstained from the vote as there is a very obvious conflict of interest.

If you were still on the RAAus board, how would you have answered the questions about the effect of self-certification private drivers licence medicals for GA RPL and PPL holders, and about the possible ramifications to the Raaus in to both membership numbers and finance?
Just for the record, I hold both Raaus and GA licences.

Bull, there are plenty of other posts currently going on about the management of the RAAus, you would better off posting on one of them rather than posting on this one, how about posting positive posts about how fantastic the old natflys were (I went all of them from 2001, most of them in a Drifter).

Copied this from Facebook ......
Not all of AOPA are happy with their management.
"Well I guess this is as good a time to start as anywhere. I am converting to my RAAus licence and I will be doing it with Dan at Dubbo who was recommended to me. I am also an AOPA member and I was the Vice President of AOPA until late last year, to be honest with you I had had enough of the endless political crap. I just like flying and particularly bush flying which I did quite a bit of and float planes and airliners it just kept going. I loved it all and still do. I am still training pilots and I wanted to make a contribution in GA. Most pilots I know are just not much interested in politics so I won’t beat around the bush, excuse the pun. We need a change of management in the AOPA and we need it pretty quickly or there won’t be much of anything at all. Just constant fighting and grand standing it just doesn’t end. I will find out just how many AOPA members there really are and I will be proceeding with a proposal. Remember the AOPA belongs to all of us as members, not any one single person who seems to think he owns it.

they have an undercarriage that is designed for operation off long US tarmac runways.
Don't tell this Rans owner about that, you might stop him having fun.

I was thinking the same thing .It’s also odd that Tasmanians seem to tar themself with that image. -
Check out the Web address as listed in ersa .... one too many "W's" in that one.

Hi Dave.
You may recall that I underwent a ball reduction operation a few years ago, now I am only allowed to take them out of my wife's handbag if I promise only to take off from areas that I might survive a engine failure.... so it looks like your place is off limits.

Instead of having the laser aimed at the floor, set it up so it is aimed at the leading edge of the wing. That way it won't matter if the plane moves slightly when you turn the prop.

Do not unlatch door in flight!
in Savannah
Posted
I think it is caused by the shape of the fuselage in front of the doors on the Savannah. My Rans S6 also has a top hinged door with the gas strut on the rear of the door, you can open the door in flight if you slow down to 50 knots, then you can speed back up to cruise speed. Been a Drifter pilot I quite like the doors been open.
