  1. They re-introduced Benzene?, isnt that stuff about as nasty as TEL?
  2. I'm sure they are great to fly but they hit it hard with the ugly stick (I can attest it looks no better in the flesh) Shame as the original was such a looker
  3. This one of those 'maybe' matters rather than a certainty, Shirley? Worth looking in to when training, I'll admit it was not on mind at all when I learnt
  4. AFAIK anaphylactic reactions come on very quickly, I'm sensitive to Bee stings though not to the extent of anaphylactic shock and the sting site starts swelling almost immediately. It's a shame as I enjoyed my short time keeping Bees
  5. I bought a TY91 transceiver and TT21 transponder about 10 years ago, since then i've changed aircraft twice and both times removed the trig units from the aircraft before sale, so i could fit them to my next aircraft (I now have a spare of each as the Nynja I have now already had trig units fitted when I bought it) They just work, the head units could be improved in the area of usability perhaps but they are reliable and the built in intercom functions well. Customer service has been first class, though I've had no faults I did send the radio back to trig for a firmware update and this was done free of charge with the units being returned in new original packaging as I had thrown the originals away years back.
  6. Skyecho is rather odd in its charging requirements. There is a very full thread on Charging in the Flyer Forum here: https://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=119153&hilit=sky+echo+Charging It's long but don't skip this post in particular: https://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=1864496#p1864496
  7. My Carmo install goes through master switch and fuse to battery. I didnt pay attention to grounding the case as I assumed it was not actually electrically connected to any internal components but was merely a heatsink. Maybe I should go back on that? I suppose checking for continuity between the negative wire from the regu and the case would confirm whether or not grounding the case provides any purpose electrically for the carmo?
  8. There's a generation 5 Jabiru engine?. I hadn't heard that do you have any links to info?
  9. I think it looks awfull with the nosewheel, but the Taildragger looks quite nice. The one at my field is owned and flown by a quite small guy, I dont think you'd get an American sized person in one.
  10. What tests checks did you actually make? and what where the symptoms of you're apparent failed regulator?, It looks like you never said what lead you to this conclusion.
  11. I see it has one of those industrial V twin conversions installed. In my view a much better option than the 1/2 VW. there is a Spacek SD1 fitted with one at my airfield and it seems reliable though it doesnt fly often as we are exposed to a lot of high winds and turbulence and the SD1 being a very small taildragger doesnt fare well.
  12. What a prat (nicest way I can think of putting it) He was lucky to get a bail extension, walking out of court without being granted leave to do so is a clear indication that he is a flight risk (flight as in running away from justice) I would have remanded him and depending on if he had been previously warned possibly held him in contempt.
  13. Sorry forgot tos say, you are looking for something like at least 28 volts ac coming from the alternator at 3500rpm and resistance across the 2 yellow wires of between 0.1 - 0.8 ohms. (this is from memory please check these figures they are in the manuals somewhere) Mine measured 30v ac at 3500rpm and 0.2 ohms
  14. While its unplugged check the Stator output, its an easy check
